soothsayer
Need some help here. With summer coming quickly I need to find a product that can help get rid of frizzy hair. My hair is so damn thick and tempermental. Any advice would be nice.

Brenda Starrr
Try a glossing/smoothing serum. They're usually really lightweight. Just don't use too much, or you'll be greasy.
Fierce Critter
Oooh! OOh! Something I've got a TON of experience with. With lots of perm damage, I've been through a dozen or more products trying to fix my own frizzies problem. Here's what I've discovered works. Frizz-Ease hair serum works GREAT. It's about $9.00 a bottle. Basically, it's silicone for the hair. Best way to apply: wash hair, squeeze dry a little with a towel. Take about a dime-sized dollop of FE in your hand and swish your palms together, making a fine coat on each. Then run your hands through your hair while you bend over, letting your hair hang down. Try to wipe as much off your hands and onto your hair as possible, making sure to get all the layers. Finish off with a similar application of Garnier Fructis Shake Effect Liqui-Gel. It comes in a little round pump spray bottle. Spray a few squirts into your hand, do the swish thing, and squeeze into your hair for ultra-light, non-drying control. Air-dry for best results. For the bargain-conscious, Sally's makes a product called Fantasia Frizz Buster serum that works pretty much the same as Frizz-Ease. It's about $6.50 for 50% more product than the Frizz Ease. You have to experiment to get your quantities of product down for your own hair, however. I've found the Fantasia actually requires less than the Frizz Ease. Also, try to do more thorough hair rinsings rather than shampoos. If you let these products accumulate, they tend to look better and better - by about the 3rd rinse. After that, it can end up having a sort of greasehead look - not good.

soothsayer
K ~ I'm gonna look into those products. I'll have to contend with doing it myself until I'm rich enough to hire some hot female hair stylists.
SpidersMoment
my hair gets really frizzy, but usualy after i comb out all my natural curls or after i blow dry. What i do to rid myself of it is to run a straight iron over my strands real quick. Or if im to lazy or in to much of a hurry i just spray my hair with water to get to curl again. I've tried frizz ease before, and either i didnt use it right or it doesnt work.
Fierce Critter
If you don't get it "right" the first time, it can sometimes take a LOT of experimenting to get Frizz Ease technique down. Methodology will change depending on hair type (prone to oily? Use less. Dry? use more), how often you shampoo, what kinds of shampoo you use, etc. Oh - another tip I learned from the pro's. If you blow dry your hair, NEVER aim the nozzle UP from end to scalp. Aim it down from root to tip. It's kinda like avoiding rubbing a cat backwards - makes the fur lay DOWN, not fluff up - especially if you have dry or split ends.

Even without washing, I could just use ice water right?

lullaby1031
You can also try that Bedhead shampoo and conditioner that has some of that anti frizz stuff in it, but frizz ease works awesome.
JaneDead
i used to have really frizzy hair when it was long and really curly. and the more i would blow dry the frizzer it would be. when i started to wear it shorter and layered i noticed it was not as bad. and now it is hardly bad ever. the frizzy for me was all the really dried out split ends and the more i got it cut, the more that really dried out crap was getting cut off. i have noticed that certain cheap shampoos really dry out my hair and make it crappy again. i HATE hair products so i just tried different shampoos and conditioners to see what made it smoother instead. i know that doesnt help much but really for me it was getting the hair cut more often and laying off products/blow drying that helped me. also i try to straighten it a bit more. i got a straightener and when it is frizzy and i use that it is really really smooth. revoltedhorror
I put Frizz Ease in my hair after I comb it in the morning after my shower, then I comb it through, then straighten it. Comes out nice and soft and straight. Somewhat shiny too. I have really poofy wavy curly hair that bugs the shit out of me. Ever since I bought my Wet 2 Straight straightener by Remington, I've been so happy with my hair. FC sounds like she knows what she's talking about. I'd follow her advice. But I don't have that kind of money...lol. I have to wait until that stuff is like on clearance or something.
Fierce Critter
RH - try the stuff from Sally's I mentioned. You'd think that, being cheaper, you'd need more than you would the Frizz Ease. Actually, it seems to be slicker and you need less.
