We know each others boundries and make sure to ask first before we do anything we think the other might be mad about.
StormKnight (1)
It was my non-favorite older sisters, and for the most part, *all* my siblings, that made me want to live on my own. My sisters, favorite one nonwithstanding, would steal t-shirts, polo shirts, and other various clothing from my room. Unfortunately, they are all at least C-cup, even back then, and my shirts would return deformed (could have drank more coffee to keep those breasts in check.) There were mornings where I didn't have anything to wear because of this, yet I get blamed for not being ready for school fast enough. The brothers, both older and younger, would destroy pretty much everything nice I would have (models, toys, etc.) I became mechanically inclined not because I thought it was fun (OK, it was...deal,) but also as a need to put my stuff back together after the tornado of my brothers hit my room. If (which is a pretty big "if," consdering the bleak love life,) I do co-habitate, the sharing of personal space may be the biggest thing to achieve. TygerLili
All things considered, I've gotten pretty lucky with the roommates I've had as an adult. I had a few bad ones back in college. My personal space rant has to do with when I am waiting in a line in a store, restaurant, bank, etc. and the person behind me has to stand literally right on top of me. You're not going to get service any faster just because you are 3 inches closer to the end of the line, back off. A couple weeks ago I was in line to get my take-out food and there was a woman with a fussy baby standing so close to me that she kept brushing against my arm and back. I was ready to punch her. Head Wreck
i could go on. i am a loner by nature and i dont gety any time to myself to sit in a dark room and think, or do something for myself my situ isnt looking to change. i'm at home with me pearents and my mum's health isnt what it should be. theres a lot she cannot do for herself, or do for very long so i spend my evenings on beck and call duties after she's struggled therough the day whilst i'm in work. also the market right now aint looking good. prices are high (extortionate) but their coming down. just got to keep my head down for a bit and save a bit more, bide my time for the recession to bottom out and start to recover before making a deposit. i hope. that or hope theres more property floating about in the family for an inheritance claim
jynxxxedangel
I love living alone. I work hard to achieve and keep my independent status. I shudder to think of the days when I was destitute, and an unfortunate house guest-- relying on handouts and spare couches, and at the mercy of whatever drama existed in the houses I stayed at. I'd rather die, than go back to having no privacy or personal space.
Homicidalheathen
Well its nice to offer a couch when a guest has a long way to drive or has been drinking. People should be more courteous when they are being done a favor. Especially when I have done their makeup for free and shit... thats another thing I hate. If you borrow someones makeup use sponges and qtips you can throw away so your not risking spreading pink eye or ringworm...ick don't share lipstick I get bitter, but I will still offer it on occasion as things are tight and hell with gas, cover charges ect who can afford a room these days. Nymphetix
my second roommate when i lived in the dorms had to have this set schedule of taping shows. she loved american idol and kelly clarkson.....she'd have a weeks of continuous planning on when she wasn't there i had to watch whatever she needed for the time slot her shows were on. ... american idol was on 3 or more times a week! then her obsession with backstreet boys and full house!! this was 2000 and i don't know many people who are still obsessing about these things...letalone get paired with me for almost a year. i corrupted her....but not a dent. Destroit
I am an only child, so I do not need to explain that I go ape-crazy when someone touches my shit. My huge issues come from bed space. By the way that he sleeps, one could assume that Pestilence is about 6'5", approxmately 4-5' wide, and weighs roughly 550 lbs. I am rolled off the bed quite often. Homicidalheathen
I know someone who still calls someone 'friend' after he used him for a year as a free place to stay...and never cleaned or anything. Hell if you got a free couch, the least you can do is the dishes. Sheesh. some people are waaay to nice Oh and said dead beat also wouldn't pitch in and buy his own shampoo when he crashed on someone else' couch a while back...used all their soaps. Laundry, everything. Ass.
Mean Salley
I had a room mate who had problems with boundaries He was a good guy but his hamburger helper would cross the 4 day boundary in his backpack then it would cross the boundary into sitting BEHIND the refrigerator then it would cross the boundary into becoming a horrifying bacteria then it would cross the boundary of the container when I found it and cleaned it then it crossed the boundary of my respiratory system finally I crossed the boundary into the emergency room when bacterial pneumonia from said 3 month old hamburger helper prevented me from breathing. lol if the Hamburglar had an assistant, he'd be a Hamburglar Helper. Robble Robble : :!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've ended up being den mother to some really slobbish male room mates, before. I had one roomie who loved to fill the sink full of water, and then put his un-scraped dinner plates in it to soak for a few days. Gotta love that one. Then, there was the guy who had not one, but TWO, beer can recycling bins across from his computer desk. The empty cans usually didn't get much farther than the table next to the desk; or the middle of the dining room floor, in front of the bins. Some people just don't care if their house stinks, turns into a giant mushroom, or is overrun with fruit flies. *sigh*
