phee
I have often wondered what Eyes Wide Shut would have turned out like if Kubrick had been able to finish editing it and Cruise had not brought it from an R rating from an NC-17 rating where it was before.... There is supposed to be a Europian version that is still NC-17 that does not have Cruise's meddling

Saint Germain
Paths of Glory Clockwork Orange Dr. Strangelove Barry Lyndon The remarkable about his films is that no one is like his former works. He always invented his kind of art new.

Guest greyhalo
I have to go with "A Clockwork Orange" and "The Shining" too. I don't think he's given enough credit for his 1962 version of "Lolita" though.
Shade Everdark
Dr. Strangelove. No question. His other films have much to recommend them, this is true, but this bit of black comedy is just sheer brilliance. "You can't fight in here, this is the War Room!" Such a simple phrase, and such a genius bit of irony.
