htis is precisely when you need to just start living for yourself, and totally forget any idea you might have had about being with someone. once you've reclaimed who you really are, and not who your low self-esteem *thinks* you are, you'll be ready for a good relationship, and you'll also be able to tell whether one is good or not...

Absolutely. At one time, I had no confidence and no self esteem. Really. Me. See? I kicked the degenerate who fed on and perpetuated that out of my life and stayed away from dating all together for a year and a half. In that time I regained myself, I had lost my identity, and finally realized that I deserve to be treated well and deserved to be happy. Now I sometimes get a little too confident and cocky, but hey, it's one of my endearing qualities, right? I can definitely tell a bad relationship, or even a perspective one, quite well now, thankfully. Yes, I am single, and yes, I choose to be, I actually enjoy it. Too much sometimes, I think, but I am not against relationships. I am just against wasting my time in one that will be less than I deserve or want in a relationship. I have way too much fun on my own for that nonsense!
