Less painful than a sharp stick to the eye

I'm with you on this one. I don't have the will power to give up meat, and if I tried I'd probably last a day if that lol. More power to the ones who can handle it.

It's definitely not for everyone. If you enjoy meat, go ahead and eat it. I never cared much for red meat, even as a kid. So, I just decided to stop eating it and didn't miss it.

Yes.

I don't even eat much seafood. One thing I can't give up is dairy. I LOVE cheese. Soy cheese doesn't compare to real cheese.

i can't give up dairy either. i love cheese a lot. i eat it constantly. and i like eggs and make scrambled eggs and omelets often (usually with milk and always with cheese) so... dairy. i want it. some things just CAN'T have a substitute. there is no sub for cheese!

yeah i don't care much for milk, i only like to add it to things (like my eggs, or other recipes that call for it. but i NEVER drink it, never have. don't like it much actually.)

i could probably give up eggs but ... actually no i probably can't. i do like eggs.

and as far as being "vegan" i could NEVER give up honey or cheese so it would NEVER happen.

  • 3 weeks later...

This would be a bad time to say that I am eating lamb wouldn't it?

Even though I really do not like the idea of vegan I hail from Madison where it is king and people will hit you for eating meat. I know about five people who are chefs in the area so when I go home for christmas break I can get their cookbooks and scan them.

My friend Danielle has some of the best vegan deserts I have ever tasted. May seem odd because I hate vegan food but she always sneaks it on me...

Animals eat animals so I don't get why all the vegan people tell me that I am wrong...my cat+a mouse=a meal

I've been a vegetarian for 18 years. I still eat eggs, but they have to be organic, cage free and vegetarian fed. I do on occasion still eat goat cheese and other cheeses made without rennet.

I have a million cookbooks, however, I don't cook unless someone twists my arm.

Im a vegetarian...I still eat fish and dairy products...I have been one for almost...2 1/2 years? I don't even remember, I don't have any recipes off the top of my head, but there are these DELICIOUS vegan cookies at Zerbo's, dang I threw the wrapper away...

And I don't know about anyone here, but I tried the Tofurkey for Thanksgiving and it tasted like crap.

I'm wondering how anyone could be veg/vegan...there's no effing way I could do it. I'm an animal person and there's still no way I could do it, too damn good to give up . Kudos to anyone that can pull it off and be satisfied with it though.

I'm so with you on that one! I likes my meat. I feel no guilt in eating it, because its a purely fair and natural thing for my emotions to comprehend, and my body actually physically craves it. I get to feeling very sick, if I go without meat for long. I DO NOT, however, care for the barbaric way most food animals are raised and slaughtered. It's just as appalling to this meat-eater, as it is to you vegetarians. This is why I prefer to hunt.

I'm a responsible hunter, as well as a respectful one. I always smudge, and give thanks to the animal's spirit before I go out, and after I retrieve my arrow or birds-- if I make a kill (which is done carefully and cleanly). I treat the animal(s) remains with respect, and use every part possible, from barb to queue (and if I can't use it, I know someone who can). My friends, the coyotes, get the offal. I also NEVER take more than I need-- and I NEVER, NEVER kill for sport. That is SO brutal. Anyone who kills an animal just to kill and keep its skin is sick, and has no respect for life at all.

I also know that I am part of the food chain while I'm out there-- and Brothers Bear, Wolf, and Catamount aren't going to say a prayer over me before they eat! ;)

Rock on, my veggie brothas and sistas.. You're tougher than I, if you can go without meat!

I have nothing against people who hunt like you do, for food. I unfortunately work for a company that indulges in the sport of hunting.

I hold nothing against peole who eat meat, it's a personal choice. Hell I cook meat everyday for my family.

I don't eat meat purely for the fact that it doesn't treat my body well. I get alot (ALOT) of flak from coworkers, family, even strangers about my choices, and it boggles my mind that they think they can judge me on my food choices.

Ah well

rant over

Oh and this was in no way a rant against anyone here.

I just had someone tell me today that "It's against nature to not eat meat, and you're doing more damage to animals this way, And I should be ashamed of suporting those liberal ideals'
