i don't recall ever wanting anything as a child. i never knew what toys were out there. didn't go shopping and see them in stores, didn't see them on tv and didn't really play at other people's houses.... so....

my kids are the same way. every b-day or xmas people ask what they want and they ALWAYS say "i don't know" and they really don't. ;)

i do recall wanting a cindy dollhouse. cindy is like barbie but not quite. not sure where cindy came from. i guess she was maybe more popular in another country. i knew about this cindy and her dollhouse because of a little girl that lived on my grandma's street. i did get my cindy doll, some of her house stuff and i think i even got her house but it was never put up/together in my house. it was in the garage and got ruined. i don't think i ever got to play with it?? not even sure now. i think i got this all for my birthday though.

i found her once on ebay. i can't even find her now online or ebay. i dont' think it is actually "cindy" it might be "cydni" or some other spelling. i think she was more of a popular item in england. who knows... i'd love to just find that again on ebay and look at her and all her stuff that there was to go in her house.

another thing i wanted was my own record player. i used my parents' all the time but i wanted my own, in my room. and i got a holly hobbie one when i was about 5 or 6 i think. i listened to it all the time.

those are the only two things i recall ever wanting.

other things i liked but not really for christmas were the smurf mini whatever they were things made of pvc i believe. and garbage pail kid cards. both of which i got. i still have all my garbage pail kid cards and only one smurf.

oh i liked strawberry shortcake and got her and blueberry muffin and purple pie man one year. i remember making him out to be this pervert bad guy that everyone hated. because that is what he looked like.

I got the pink Corvette with silver decals one year for Christmas (I can't find an image of one like mine!). I also got a really cool Western Barbie that year,

WESTERN-BARBIE.jpg

and her horses, Dallas and Midnight (for whom I cannot find images--some of these toys sure are hard to track down :wallbash:).

I never got a new Barbie camper, but I did get one of these, handed down through the family:

To be honest, I think this one was much cooler than the contemporary one of the time. It had camping furniture, and a pop-out tent.

Edit: I found a photo of the "Midnight" Barbie horse!!!

my aunt had that camper thing that you have there in the pic! i always wanted to play with it and she would NEVER let me. said she was keeping it for her kids when she them one day. and she did. :)

The Barbie camper looked like a lot of fun. That would have been sweet as hell!

The barbie jeep:

I never wanted the Barbie jeep, I always wanted the Barbie Corvette though. I had one of the boy jeeps. It was really too big for me, but I loved that damn thing!
