Calling a business for information

:devil You should know this one really well. I hate when ever I call a store or some other business and I have to listen to a computer voice for 10 minutes before I can even speak to a living human being!! It gets really annoying when your pressed for time and you are also having you cell minutes being wasted. Iremember the days when someone would answer the phone after two rings: now you have to hear three to eight voices before you are put on hold for who knows how long! The computer voice will say the next available consultant will be with you in about a half hour if not longer. All I can say is that this kind of shit pisses not only me off but other people too. Its time to get rid of this B.S. Go back to the way it used to be. other than that can't wait for CC this weekend!!

I've said that I'm a giver. I am in more ways than one. There was a time when I was struggling to feed my kids, keep a roof over their heads, etc. So, one night, my phone rings. My kids are eating hot dogs and mac & cheese. I answer, and it's an organization looking for donations for poor children in Baltimore County.

:blink

So, I took a deep breath. I told the lady that I couldn't afford to donate. That I was a single mom and my kids were eating hot dogs and mac & cheese for the 3rd time that week. She had the balls to say "It doesn't matter how little or how much you donate. Every little bit helps."

:blink :blink

I began to cry. I told her that she needed to bring her moronic ass over to my one-room apartment and take a good hard look at what I was dealing with. I also told her that I had better not ever get a call asking me for money again. God! Those were some of the hardest times ever, and this bitch was relentless

I'd almost rather be immediately put on hold....

Tip: When you're prompted to press a number - try zero.

Often that will transfer you to an operator.

Or don't push any buttons at all, or if it asks you to speak a number, say nothing. Most of these things are still set-up to deal with people who don't have touch-tone phones, and if you're non-responsive will transfer you to a live person.

I've been using those tricks for years.
