Spetsnaz

Inspired by pioneering artists like Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Die Krupps, and DAF, the hard hitting EBM (Electronic Body Music) duo Spetsnaz was formed in Örebro, Sweden in the autumn of 2001 by Stefan Nilsson and Pontus Stålberg. With powerful vocals, frenetic pounding bass lines and a relentless rhythmic assault, Spetsnaz is aggression - a reaction against Futurepop and revival of what Nilsson and Stålberg see as "old school" music.

The duo’s debut album "Grand design" - managed to cause quite a stir in the scene earning them a tour supporting Mexican industrial-legends Hocico in 2004. Three singles, two full-length CDs and myriads of shows across the globe later (including a tour with And One), Spetsnaz have become synonymous for tough Body Music. The group´s live show has been reported to be as intense and energetic as the music, with Pontus jumping over the stage like a maniac, screaming at the top of his lungs, and Stefan fiercely beating his drum pads. A band like this does not take prisoners! You can sum it up in one easy sentence: if this music doesn´t manage to move your ass, probably nothing will!

Obscenity Trial

A fresh, promising newcomer to the Electro-Pop genre. Obscenity Trial follows in the footsteps of established acts such as Camouflage, NamNamBulu and Melotron with positive electronic pop songs that are by turns danceable, balladesque, midtempo and upbeat. The bands "Here And Now" CD (released on Major Records the home of Ladytron and IAMX) manages to deliver a cohesive and well balanced selection of strongly melodic electro pop songs produced by Olaf Wollschläger ( Melotron, In Strict Confidence, and Seabound, amongst others.). Fans of Melotron should not miss this act.

Return Bottles, hit a kid up for his milk money, pack a lunch rather than buy it... Having seen Spetsnaz in 2004, I can say they are VERY energetic live and not to be missed!

You see, im moving into a new place at the end of the month though so I have to find an extra 200 bucks to give for security deposit as well as first months rent... Its gonna be ruff, but Ill see what I can do.

Want a good idea of how talented Spetsnaz is?

Check out the remixes they've done for:

Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat

Suicide Commando - Face of Death

Client - Lights Go Out

Ayria - Six Seconds

Hocico - Blindfold

and more...

Pontus has also done guest vocals for Rabia Sorda (Hocico side project) and he did the mastering for Feindflugs "Volk und Armee" CD. Going into the way back machine he did the production the stunningly brilliant 7 Trees CD (Zoth Ommog)

So, roll call - who is going?
