I'm just making some suggestions...

I had a great strategy for admission to my 29th birthday party that allowed separate prices for different "classes" of people and dress codes yet didn't make anyone feel excluded for their choice of wardrobe or upset about a higher price bracket. Instead, everyone felt like they were getting a deal and felt welcome. Just a few strategies I picked up from managing a nightclub and organizing a ton of events and performances. If anyone is running any event anytime soon and is interested in some winning strategies, my consultation rates are reasonable. Plus, if you mention DGN I'll knock 10% of the total bill.

I'm with hunhee in that I'm always really irritated when I dress according to an advertised dress code and no one else does. I spent a LOT of time and money getting ready for an exotica masquerade ball and not even the people throwing the event had masks on (most of them at least).

BUT you can't expect everyone who's going to see your flyer/website/get all the info. Lots of people go to events by word of mouth (if you get a call from a friend at the last minute asking you what you're doing tonight, do you tell them oh hey be here at this time it'll be great or do you read an entire list of rules and regulations for going to and being involved in activities at said place? ya that's what I thought).

It would have been nice of the people at the door to let you know that you can't go into the play room with your current outfit (especially since the play room entrance was right next to the front door). I don't know if my friend was informed of this, I didn't ask, but I don't think he was. $20 at the door is a lot of money to be forced to sit in one room where music is painfully loud and be denied half of the action you paid the full price for.

Also, what about a VIP room you had to conform to dress code to be allowed access to? VIP area? Maybe you can go in but you can't participate if you are dressed "normal"?

I'm just making some suggestions...

I was standing in the breezeway when people were coming in, and they did tell people that they weren't allowed into certain areas in their current form of dress..In fact, I remember the quote...

"You may go upstairs, the way you are currently dressed, but unless you're wielding something special under your clothes that I just don't know about, you cannot go into the play area, if you choose to remove your t-shirt, you may be allowed into the play area". (So she did give the guy suggestions as to how to gain access).

It was definitely some good outfit watching.. I've been more conscious about gothy clothes, and I was like..hey look, a Shrine Hollywood outfit.. I love people watching..hehe

Sounds like an interesting show, but I know I wouldn't have been allowed in either seeing as I don't own anything "fetishy"

You don't own a button up shirt, short skirt, and some fishnets? Or even that quintessential "little black dress" ??? Formal wear was OK too, you could have re-worn that old prom or homecoming dress that you only got to wear once.

I think I need to set up Hunhee's thrifty outfit ideas corner..

If he could have removed his shirt to get into the play room he would have, in fact he did remove it upstairs when he was whipped at the bondage booth.

That's just what I overheard while I was in the breeze way. I don't know what they told your friend.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
