You call yourself a parent

You call yourself the best

But to me you are a person

That is below all of the rest

Lets start from the beginning

From when I was about three

The first time I realized

When you hit me

Then I grew older

About the age of five

The first time you told me

You wish I was not alive

I grew to double digits

I learned that it was all wrong

I learned that this was a place

That I did not belong

So what, YOU hated me

And what, YOU did not care

I realized a long time ago

That life is not fair

Stop trying to bring me down

And make me fade away

Because I keep growing stronger

Each and every day

I am now almost 18 years old

How long is this going to last?

You can do whatever you want to

But I am not a blast from your past

I have grown so much stronger

Stronger than you could ever see

I have become my own person

And its all because of ME!

I am sorry to say to you

That you can't hurt me anymore

All your comments and actions

Is something I can ignore

I have so many goals in life

Things that I want to achieve

I can't wait to get out of here

It will be a relieve

But until that time comes

I will keep growing strong

I will keep reminding myself

That you are the one thats wrong

Will you save me from this world?

If my life seems to be falling apart

Will you hold me tight and never let go

Hold me like the world is ending

Will you always be there for me?

And make sure I am going alright

Will you care if I cry?

Wipe away my tears

Will you comfort me and tell me it's alright

Holding me close to you

You lighten up my days

Bringing a smile to my face

Hold my hand, don't let go

Stay with me, don't leave me

Smile and I'll smile with you

Hold me tight and I'll hold you tighter

Kiss me and I'll kiss you back

Love me and I will love you back

You make my heart beat so fast

Does yours beat so fast too?

Leaning on you, I heard your heart beat.

It was beating so fast.

Was it because of me I wonder...?

The way you make me feel, it's so unreal.

I never knew it could be like this

Never thought I'd have you in my arms

So close to me, holding me close to you

You give me butterflies still,

When you hold me in your arms

I don't want this to go
