Songs you hate hearing at clubs

I used to play "Butterfly Dance"... and watch the floor clear.

Anyways, in general, for as much as people bitch about what they DON'T want to hear, they bitch even more when the DJ's try to interject something new.

D Pressing!

Saint I will say I love your sets and always have.

Oh yeah, I am certainly not picking on DJs. Or at least not City Club DJs. I'm picking on audiences that flock nearly-exclusively to this stuff. There really is no way for you to win.

By the way, have you played Beauty of Gemina's "The Lonesome Death of a Goth DJ"?

I had a listen to the preview of the track found on Music Non Stops site. Not so much my thing, but interesting nontheless...

There's a couple playlists yet to be posted from the Works, that show a variety of good stuff.

I like all of the current DJs at CC. I think you guys all do a great job. But, like I said, I realize it's the same people who request the same songs every week.

Oh yeah..

Thanks for the memory jogger, greyhalo.

I absolutely HATE "Closer," by NIN. That's another played-out song-- add it to my list above.

you mean the song that goes " i wanna fuck you like an animal".

thats how i have had people request it as before, many times before.

The Galan Pixs actually did a decent cover of this a long time back. Regardless, still HATE the song. DJ's, please play something else instead :wink

Oh there's too much schlock to state. BUT I can and do dance to pretty much whatever they throw at me if I'm already on with my groove. I think that has more to do with me loving to dance than the music being good though.

I understand. I like dancing too.

However, I just can't dance to some of that stuff that sounds more like rap or metal...

i agree about the closing time song and du hast. not a fan.

there are songs they play at luna though i don't know them by name? i don't like them. they are very unoriginal and all sound so much alike i have no idea who is who. they are all those new songs they probably play on the radio so you might know what i mean if you listen to the radio. which i don't. unless it is doug f.m. because they play everything.

Anything by Marilyn Manson.

Once In a Lifetime by Wolfsheim. Not because I don't like the song, but because it's impossible to dance to.

Straight techno. I can deal with one song, but put 3 or 4 together and they all sound like the same song over and over again.

I loves me some good techno...heehee its like disco, you don't has to listen to it really so much just shake it like a poloroid...never mind.

I dance to the once in a lifetime cause it brings back memories of a day I had sooo much fun...sigh...

+1

Having worked in gentlemen's clubs for many years, there are quite a few songs commonly played in those establishments which I don't care if I ever hear again:

"Girls Girls Girls," by Motley Crue

"Cherry Pie," by Warrant

"Get Low," by Lil' John

"Big Pimpin'," by Jay Z

"Mortal Kombat Theme," by KMFDM

"Enter Sandman," by Metallica

"My Humps," by Black-Eyed Peas

"Milkshake," by Kelis

..and many, many more. DJs, PLEASE stop playing these annoying songs!!!!! :wallbash::rofl:

I too used to work in a stip bar...and they played a lot of rock there, I HATED BOOTY HOP b/s...it was in Glendale AZ and lucky for me so did all the other girls and the dj. Most people expect to hear shit like MILKSHAKE lol that one will NEVER GO AWAY!!!!

I am surprised Sandman is a strip song...hell...that is not sexy.

That is why I DON'T GO to strip bars anymore...the music SUCKS SOOO BAD.

I hate rap and hip hop for the most part.

I too hate 50 cent but more because he brags about dealing crack to get the money to make his first cd...yaH...someone for kids to look up to.

What songs really annoy you when you hear them at CC, Necto, or wherever else you go clubbing?

I'll start:

"Du Hast" by Rammstein--This song was pretty cool when it came out over 10 years ago. But, why do I still hear it every week at CC? The people who request it constantly need to give a a f**king rest.

"Megalomaniac" by KMFDM--Read what I wrote above regarding "Du Hast."

Anything by She Wants Revenge. Don't even TRY to compare these buffoons to Joy Division.

Correct I like Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy

I hate when they play this song at CC. I also hate when they play "Get Down make Love" because idiots start dry humping each other on the dance floor.

I really HATE the song "Beloved" by VNV Nation at this point. I've heard it way too many times now.

I've never understood why so many think this is the best VNV song out there, I think there are others I'd rather hear. Plus that's another song I find to be rather hard to dance to.

The concept of "Skullfucking" is pretty cool, but no one could partake of enough uppers to find a way to follow that beat on the dancefloor.

"Closer" achieved fame the same way as the aforementioned song; one cheap line with the word "fuck." Not so dancy.

And does anyone remember when City used to play the theme to Blade every week? That would only be excuseable if blood were coming out of the ceiling.

the sad thing is, I used to get blamed for that stupid New order song... everyone would confuse me with the guy who requested it each time him and his friends showed up. I remember they'd wear matching pimp suits, and dance in a circle in the middle of the floor :X

edit: for the record, I can't stand that song.
