Songs you hate hearing at clubs

What songs really annoy you when you hear them at CC, Necto, or wherever else you go clubbing?

I'll start:

"Du Hast" by Rammstein--This song was pretty cool when it came out over 10 years ago. But, why do I still hear it every week at CC? The people who request it constantly need to give a a f**king rest.

"Megalomaniac" by KMFDM--Read what I wrote above regarding "Du Hast."

Anything by She Wants Revenge. Don't even TRY to compare these buffoons to Joy Division.

I can't stand that song "Military Fashion Show" by And One. Actually, I don't really like anything I've heard by them.

well, I pretty much always leave when a song comes on that consists of one riff repeated over and over for 5 minutes.

Anything by Marilyn Manson.

Once In a Lifetime by Wolfsheim. Not because I don't like the song, but because it's impossible to dance to.

Straight techno. I can deal with one song, but put 3 or 4 together and they all sound like the same song over and over again.

I hate the adolescent aggression of modern aggro-dance music. This monotonous, boring, noisey :wumpscut:/Suicide Commando/Decoded Feeback screamo EBM. And despite how much shit I may get from people: Combichrist. It's just so simplistic, insipid and all of it sounds alike. It exists solely for the sake of booging down in your big, black boots. No harm there, I suppose. But why dance to that when there are bands like Beauty of Gemina, Das Ich, or Diary of Dreams that can do so much more with this medium.

Sorry if I cannot name specific names because all of that crap sounds exactly the same.

Boom. Crash. "A Scary Voice Chanting". Full Metal Jacket sample. Repeat.

+1

Having worked in gentlemen's clubs for many years, there are quite a few songs commonly played in those establishments which I don't care if I ever hear again:

"Girls Girls Girls," by Motley Crue

"Cherry Pie," by Warrant

"Get Low," by Lil' John

"Big Pimpin'," by Jay Z

"Mortal Kombat Theme," by KMFDM

"Enter Sandman," by Metallica

"My Humps," by Black-Eyed Peas

"Milkshake," by Kelis

..and many, many more. DJs, PLEASE stop playing these annoying songs!!!!! :wallbash::rofl:

I'll admit that I like a lot of industrial and aggrotech bands. I'd rather listen to that than Nine Inch Nails, another band I never liked.

(As an aside, I lived a few blocks away from Trent Reznor in New Orleans. My friend and I saw him walking around during Mardi Gras one year, and we both burst out laughing. OK, I know that was really bitchy, but I can be that way at times.)

I used to play "Butterfly Dance"... and watch the floor clear.

Anyways, in general, for as much as people bitch about what they DON'T want to hear, they bitch even more when the DJ's try to interject something new.

'Hate is such a strong word...'. And human nature is easier to state or bring out the bad, rather than the good.

Funny, some of the songs hated listed here -- as much as they can be weak or annoying -- some of them take me back to a time or a place, or remind me of someone. And if the memory is a good one, makes it tough for me to hate. Granted hearing it once in awhile is cool, but alot ...

i.e. 'Du Hast' reminds me of time spent with friends and family in Europe.

I'm not blaming the DJs. I'm pointing my finger at the folks who request the same songs every damn week.

Bernadette is right about "hate" being a strong word.

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
    • You can trust anyone you want.  The only question is whether or not they're deserving of that trust. No risk = no reward.  As such you have to let yourself be vulnerable sometimes and realize that all people will let you down eventually whether it's intentional or not.  The frequency that it happens is what's important.
    • Sorry, I don't check this as often as I should. Anyway document everything (although it sounds like @Trene4000already has been from her post.) It's okay to cry and break down, but not in front of them.  Never give them the satisfaction of seeing you crack.  If anything I'd go out of my way to piss them off, but I don't like being that guy either (and as such I'm not very good at it, except sometimes when I'm not intending to be.) I try to only help those whom deserve it, but that's often hard to judge.  Seeing how someone treats other people is a pretty good indicator of whether or not they're worthy.  Sociopathic narcissistic asshats are very much not worthy. I hope things are going well for you guys.
