brandywine0880
So if anybody's interested, if you have comcast digital cable under the free movies tab and then I think it's the ENCORE channel, there is a documentary called "Goth Cruise". It's a little over an hour long, it's mildly entertaining. Basically it's a cruise ship that has over 2,000 people on it, 150 people are goths. I thought it was pretty cool that a majority of the goths showcased were "veteran" goths. These people had 9-5 jobs that they had to be corporate for. There was also the "family" goths which consisted of mom, dad and son. Mom was forty something and had been goth long before the term became mainstream. All in all the people showcased were pretty cool, except for this one dude named "Lobster", who I thought was a total d-bag. Well, maybe not totally but if you watch him you'll probably see how I thought he was a little obnoxious. Anyways, figured I'd let you guys know about it. I'm sure someone else probably spread the word already. But....whateva. Hail Satan. Just kidding.

Simon Bar Sinister
I watched most of it last night...missed the first 15 minutes, as I decided that was a good time to take out the trash. /facepalm I like how the company that made it was called Tigerlily. The goth fest in England looked better than the cruise. Also, the perceived differences between the UK and US scenes was the most interesting part for me. Nienna
Yeah, I found that too, about a week ago. It was pretty interesting. The same company did a documentary about the origins of Punk that was awesome.
Destroit
Tried to find it on the internet, but that was a fail, and I don't have cable, never the less digital cable, for I have a life (i.e. I don't watch television). Suppose I'll never see it...? Oh well, seems interesting but I'll live. I wanted to check it out because one day Pestilence and I will end up blowing a thousand or more dollars just to attend the cruise, would be nice to know what I'm getting before we actually go on it. It looks pretty much like a standard-issue cruise. One of the nightclubs was converted to goth-style, with DJs spinning the appropriate music. update: www.gothcruisethemovie.com has clips from the movie. I addition, you can go to Youtube and type "goth cruise 2008" in the search box to see video someone shot on this year's version. Simon Bar Sinister
*bump* I was just at Gothic Beauty's website, and I looked at their events calendar. This year's GothCruise is in October (10/12-18, I believe), and the Cruxshadows will be there, too!

Destroit
What kind of boat? Is it like a ghost ship? Yes, the boat and all the goths on it have been dead the whole time. Sorry to ruin the twist ending of the documentary for you. Edited January 15, 2009 by Chernobyl
