How long do you play per session, and how often do you play per week to get such results?

(I just got some dance pads too, but havn't been consistent in the DDRing)

When I first started playing I was so addicted that I started on 3-step light mode (as you climb up from light, to standard, to heavy/expert, you burn more calories, obviously) and would play probably about 4 hours a day! That is CRAZY! If you have the time, do it, but if you don't, I would probably say that in an hour of playing on light mode you burn anywhere from 230-300 calories (9-15 calories per song), depending on weight and what songs you do. Standard mode is like 500-600 calories per hour (16-24 calories per song), and on heavy mode I easily burn anywhere from 600-800 calories per hour (a whopping 22 - 36 calories PER song!).

So if you play an hour a day on light, you will start to see results fairly quickly. An hour a day is not much to ask for such a fun and easy exercise regimen, it beats running for an hour on a boring treadmill at the gym, imo! As a matter of fact the reason I played 4 hours a day minimum back then was because I was so addicted, I didn't even give two shits about losing the weight at first I just loved to play play PLAY! And once you get up to standard/heavy and play for an hour a day you will be one toned and in-shape sexy biotch  (in only a few months, even without "heavy" dieting, I do recommend everyone to watch what they eat though, as exercise is not the answer alone when it comes to any kind of weight loss, but you burn so much and boost your metabolism so high you can afford to eat a little more than other diet/exercise plans usually)!

DDR comes with an actual "workout mode" if you need to know how many calories you've burned. You input your weight and it calculates how many calories you've roughly burned as you play and adds them up. It also keeps track of them day to day, so you can look back on your progress. Furthermore, this feature comes with all DDR games! I like it also because it tells you the equivalent to different exercises, as in, it tells you the equivalent to how many miles you've runned, how many times you've jump ropped, and how far you've swam, so that gives you a better idea. Many people don't like adding up calories so when they see "Jogged 2.45 miles" it gets them a little more motivated.

Oh and lastly, DDR is the only exercise regimen that can make you THIS badass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gh6hzs_7Kc

Did I mention the part about winning money? If you place in first at the tourney at Oakland Mall they have every year, they just straight up hand you $200 cash.

no your not shut up! go look at my picture alblum and then tell me if am fat!

Have you ever considered that you might be "just right"? I used to weigh 125-130, but I wasn't healthy, I may have looked good but I was sick. I was a bulimic for 4 years, and now even though I'm considered overweight, I'm still healthier than I was when I was skinny. FTW, I'm 5'7" and I weigh 215.

I'm so tired of women thinking they have to be twigs. Societies standards are so messed up. I mean look at Marilyn Monroe, who most consider the ultimate woman, she was a size 14.

Size 14...? Damn....thanks for making me feel fat .

Weren't measurements a bit different back then anyhow? They've changed even in the past ten years or so.

I am still fat, FTW  (but progress has been awesome lately, so I don't mind teasing myself a bit about it )

Fat, quite honestly is an opinion thing, there are some women who are very big and think that they're thin or "just right" and then there are crazy bitches who are like a size 2 and dieting. It's all on how you're raised and what you're influenced by. I got down to 135 lbs, without anhorrexia or bulimia, am 5'9" and my doctor congradulated me for being a healthy weight finally. The health factor also depends on how you lost the weight, if you get thin through diet and exercise instead of an eating disorder, generally speaking, you are more healthy than you would be if you were overweight.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
