Long Lost Breakfast Cereals

I used to love me a bowl of "Buckwheats" They were like wheaties but with brown sugar on them.

One day after waking up to some Buckwheats as part of a nutritionally balanced breffis, I ran 10 miles to school in 3 minutes, took my math test blindfolded and got an A, and beat the shit-stains off of big fat Todd Vincent the school bully. Then I had a nice lunch.

Han Solo and Chewbacca prolly ate Buckwheats all the time.

Does anyone remember that Post cereal that was their standard marketing tie-in to ANYTHING. I think once it was C3PO's, later Ewok Cereal and even ET cereal. Every single time it was the same corn and honey digital eights looking cereal. Tasted EXACTLY like the original Cap'n Crunch. Anyone?

Oh yeah, and I really liked Nerds cereal because two flavors came in one box.

Freakies was basically Captain Crunch with a different shape, brought to us by the fine folks at Purina. Who made pet food, by the way. The backstory was that all these weird little monsters lived under the Freakie tree, from which grew the cereal where "it ripened in the sun, becoming toasty and sugary." Another importamt aspect of this cereal was that the toys inside were better than usual for the time. In fact, I still have one of the magnets from it.

I do not remember this one.

I have memories of this brand.

Good old Pink Panther.

This was my favorite when I was growing up but it was a bitch to find it most of the time. Don't know why it was hardly ever on the shelves.
