Thanks everybody! They're doing whole brain radiation and a brand new chemo drug simultaneously. They said her type of tumor is very resistant, but they will hope for the best, and the fact that most of it was gotten will at the least up her survival time significantly and will make a chance at recovery at least possible.

Just an update: Mom is 1 week away from completing her radiation and is doing fabulously. Chemo will continue, maybe for years, while they monitor for re-growth. In all, this has, so far, been WAY easier than any of us planned on it being. SO... here's to hoping that continues!

OMG Nienna, you know I haven't been on here much lately due to my mom' health so I had no idea you were coping with all of this. Reading through from the beginning my stomach was in my throat. So relieved to get to your more recent posts and learn that your mom is doing so well. My thoughts and prayers are with you both for continued good news.

Thanks. I know you were dealing with your own hell and I was so sorry to hear of that. We're all trying to stay hopeful here. It helps that she's totally herself and feels pretty good really. It's still really scary to think about.

Mom finished her radiation yesterday so now we wait... So good, no tumor growth energy is needed. They were able to remove it, so we're hoping for no re-growth. The radiation was to kill any remaining cells.
