Anthony Ottaviano, a rising star attorney in the prestigious Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison, and his girlfriend Edythe Maa - a part-time dominatrix known as Jade Vixen - shared a passion for the S&M lifestyle. They frequented wild fetish parties in New York City - parties in which Anthony Ottaviano got decked out in leather, lipstick and high heels. Sadly, it looks as though Anthony Ottaviano has paid for his S&M passion with his life.

Anthony Ottaviano was shot and killed by a man vying for the affections of his petite girlfriend Edythe Maa. Maa, a former Ph. D. student in engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, moonlights as a dominatrix; as noted above, her professional name is Jade Vixen. Ottaviano's killer, David Krieg, was a former client of Jade Vixen, and he had become obsessed with her. In fact, he posted a video on his MySpace page in which he sings her praises: "Jade Vixen - she's the greatest fetish model since Betty Paige!" But then his obsession got out of control.

In a frenzy of madness, Krieg followed Maa and Ottaviano to Maa's Philadelphia residence, shot Ottaviano dead, and kidnapped Maa. Fortunately, Maa was released unharmed. But Kreig, using the same gun he murdered Ottaviano with, shot himself into oblivion. Yet another love triangle turns deadly. One can reasonably conclude that the fetishist community will not consider the death of David Kreig to be a great loss

People want to know why I pack heat when I'm neither a cop or a criminal? Shit like this is why. I liken my gun ownership/CCW license to a seatbelt: If you wear a seatbelt, you may not survive the crash, but the statistics are vastly in your favor if you do.

Likewise, if someone pulls a gun on me, at least I can shoot back. They can take their chances with me having one too. I like my odds, i'm no cracked out street punk.
