I'm going to evaluate this with constructive criticism relating to this evening. This is from a business standpoint.

We'll start off with the positive aspects of the evening.

1. The layout of the bar is structurally sound. You have pool tables, air hockey, cage dancers, fire breathers, and suspension work.

That's quite a few positive things to offer. People indeed love visuals. It's a good selling point and I do compliment you on that idea. The shock value really can boost up the ongoing customer basis.

2. The DJ was interactive with the crowd making it more appealing and home like. You were treated as guests instead of customers.. making you feel more welcome to the club.

3. Everyone was quite friendly, always offering drinks, or some form of entertainment. Another good selling point.

4. You also have food! When you're drinking, you always want something to munch on. I know from experience.

Relating to your opinion on music. I overheard you saying something on the long the lines of "This is what the people are requesting." Okay, great. Though, I can imagine the people that are requesting these songs belong to A) Draconian Productions B) Cybertrybe C) People on the guest list. (Meaning they all got in for free.) In that respect, the paying customers who are making these evaluations on your club should be considered a priority. I heard Mindless Self Indulgence.. at least three times since I entered the club at close to Midnight. That's three times in an hour and a half. Prodigy, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails were all followed up with this routine. If I want to listen to an entire CD, then I'll do it at home. If I want a nice list of a variety of music then I'll go out to a club. Granted, the DJ did accept requests, though he did have to download it on spot. It's considerate, but it's nice to be prepared. I've been to all types of clubs, ones that play similar music to your club as well. Though the difference was is that they didn't play the same band more than twice.. and it was spread out in a conservative manner so you wouldn't take notice. Sure, I can deal with that. Though, when you're playing 2+ by the same artists within the same hour, it becomes repetitive. I'm not saying fire your DJ or that's he's an asshole. This is honestly from a business standpoint. For example, IGUN down in Ohio plays a lot of metal/industrial metal and holds 400-500 people every single week. It's located in Bowling Green. (People come from all over the state and including Michigan. From Ann Arbor to Detroit, they have regulars every week) They have about an hour and a half of industrial, then a mixture of what you guys play. It's just more polished than what I saw last night. So, all I'm really suggesting is some polish over the rough texture. The idea is great, it's just sprucing it up that could turn this night into something new and exciting. Something to draw people toward, other than Necto and City Club. (FYI, I'm not a DJ.)

Well first of all - I never thought anyone was bashing at all - I can take criticism just fine - Im in a band and if I couldn't I shouldn't do either.... AND I do realize you guys are wanting the scene to do well and I also agree that I don't want there to be a competition - we actually had on Thursday night at first to not compete with John at Mephistos not knowing about Dead Line at the time. So I'm really glad to hear this coming from you all. We are evolving and to tell you the truth - we were very rushed into this and there was not enough time for planning as there should have been BUT I think with the little time we had to put it together (5 days) and the result we're giving and getting... it's working itself into a really cool night.

With that said - we are in the process of changing things out of "lessons learned" from the nights we've had so far. I'm sure you all will see this in the very near future. The fact is we are trying to polish it up and cut off some edges.

I am really reading everything you all are saying and I have already spoken to Vandl about some changes and some of them are pointed towards the DJ and how things are done. Last night was a little weird. When we had DJ Darks Choir in our last night open before last... Blayd did an outstanding job and everyone was very happy. I think Blayd, in an effort to please...let too many people influence him and the result was too much of this that and the other thing. When I say some things to me aren't enough to ponder on... I mean the OMG he played 2 songs by the same artist... but when there are more than 2 and they are close together then something needs to be done so we are going to fix this and I am going to speak with him but, one thing I had forgotten about and I should have mentioned (And in his defense) was his external hard drive was messing up at the beginning of the night and I think this is why he had to download things on the spot. There are several songs I wanted to hear that I know he has but he wasn't able to get to them because of his hard drive being fangled! (One of them being a new CyberTrybe track) LOL But here's two good points..... 1: even we're not gonna have him playing 30 minutes of CyberTrybe considering we're are CyberTrybe and 2: He was very willing to download them on the spot!

Now again, peoples - I am open to your comments and as you can see I will discuss, debate and listen to them with you - just don't be an asshole with me about it is all I ask...that will get us nowhere.

I for one had a great time.

My only reservation going to the Ritz is the way the regulars would stare at you, laugh at you, and occasionally try to start trouble with you because you looked different than their t-shirt baseball cap wearing norm. This was why I stopped going to Disintegration Disco nights at the Ritz despite it being the only place in Macomb county that had an industrial night.

I showed up before nine, and it was quickly apparent this was no longer the case. Even though everyone wasn't wearing their Gothday finest, everyone present was friendly, felt like they belonged there, and felt like their neighbor belonged there despite their piercing count and dread falls, or metal t-shirt and blue jeans.

I like where you are going with this night so far The evil fish, and I will help to support it. I also look forward to your guest dj's and being exposed to both new things and some old school, however it comes. Thanks.

As was stated, I complain because I care. If I didn't care I wouldn't say anything and just never go again.

And I do consider myself a patron. I'm paying $3 entry and I don't get any of the perks I used to = me being a patron. As were all the other DJs that night (who just happened to be DJs) and two of the people complaining that I knew of weren't even DJs.

I hope he works out, I just wasn't very impressed and not only with the track layout. Granted I might be holding the DJ to a higher standard, but you all know that my standards are really high anyway.

That's a good thing too since I always felt outnumbered when I was there (even DJing!). I said something about football one time and one of the employees (ex manager) overheard me. He was all like "DON'T MESS WITH FOOTBALL" and I then told him it just wasn't my thing, along with sports in general.

I did see Lary there and he quit over Joe backing me in playing music videos instead of a wings game. Which the bar TVs were still playing anyhow because they're on a seperate system which I've never figured out how to tie into.

But it's not even worth the drive for me and I'm only a city over. Although me and Sluagh686 probably burn the same ammount of gas driving (I love my car, but I hate my milage, but I love my milage compared to my last car).

i actually was impressed that the dj was responsive enough to download a song when we asked him to play something he didn't have--i hate it when i ask a dj to play something and the response is "well i don't have it because i'm too cool to worry about your 'obscure' shit so too fucking bad for you"

and not to beat a dead horse but that said the music didn't wow me

i don't get out.

ever.

and when i go out i like to experience new things... not get flashbacks of my angry 16 year old goth kid days. good music, yes, good, but unexciting.

ron was kind enough to buy me a drink which of course got me completely toasted for the entire night, and resulted in the cage dancing you all witnessed. all in all i had a great time and it was awesome to see the people i never get to see anymore.

i will be coming back :)

spook: sluagh686 is roughly 6'4" and REALLY HOT. often seen standing next to me. he hates pictures but in the past year that we've been together i've finally managed to get one of him posted online and you can find it here: myspace page that should make it easier for you to spot him in the future :)

I have to strip? HOLY COW! (seriously) no one wants to see that.. :sofa:

I don't think matters, most of the girls at CC without naming any names, I don't want to see half naked because they're gross and yet they still show up week after week dressed in what they're dressed in cluelessly. I would say I pity these particular girls...but meh, it's funny and they make me look hotter .

You're definately not that bad compared to most of these club girls I speak of.

3 Manson songs

4 Ministry songs (off the same album)

4 Prodigy songs (I believe the majority were off the same album too)

2 Zombie songs

2 Rammstein songs

Uggghhh...!! Are you serious? Well thanks for the warning, geez, that's worse than CC which is pretty hard to pull off, imo.

My ONLY two complaints: the huge gaps in the acts, and one of the "act"... seriously.... girls getting off on stage? uh, NO. Please get rid of that... that's kinda ugh...

There were girls...getting off on stage? Ewww...:ralph talk about classless, fucking grody!! Something about that just...damn...

The shit clubs do to get people in the door, srsly. It's funny though because that's the kind of shit that drives me away, personally, so I guess that marketing strategy doesn't work on everyone.

Apparently, you did not catch me checking out a tall, young, piece of meat, or grabbing another young man's ass.

Chernobyl missed this?

Why, oh why, do I always miss the cool stuff? Oh yeah, it's because I have zero dollars and zero cents in my bank account as punishment for being in college and wanting a career, nevermind, carry on.

Seriously though, I have had reservations about wearing, or not wearing certain clothing items, and it is definitely NOT due to shyness, I just didn't think it complimented my body.

Um - I said "Part Hellbound, Part EROTICA, Part Theater Bizarre, Part Dark Carnival"... if you've never been to Erotica 1 - 4 then you may not know what I'm talking about but.... I have always stated this. It might not be for everyone but there are those that are into this kind of thing - a lot on this board whether they admit it or not. So I do take offense to "The shit clubs do to get people in the door" and "talk about classless" considering all the work we've done and the fact that we haven't made a dime off the night so far because we actually pay our people.

The night is very sexually orientated. And a lot of people there that are into it are very classy people - just because you like sex and are open about it doesn't make you classless - It means you're confident in yourself and your sexuality and aren't afraid to show it. This isn't an all ages night and most the folks that come up are mature adults. I also know that A LOT of people I know that do frequent CC, Mephistos and other clubs would also take great offense to your statement. geeesss how bout we step back into the 1800's again and hide our bodies and the fact that adults do actually have sex! The more I write, the more I get pissed off about your statement so I'll stop now.

It's called Circus OBSCENE

If you don't dig sex - stay at home

A) I stayed home

B) Sorry, I dunno, showing off your body is a little different than being up on a stage masturbating yourself. There's a thin line with class and classless in sex to me. For instance, Playboy = Classy, Hustler = Trashy, I dunno, just imo. That and I don't think there were guys their pleasuring themselves on stage, I mean hell, at least that would make it a little more equal

C) Sorry I got your shit in a bunch, just stating my opinion. It seems like you have a good crowd interested in your night, just because I wasn't into one aspect of it by how it sounded, that doesn't mean you need to have your parade rained on.

D) And I like sex just fine, I have a boyfriend and well, we've got our kinks too .

Wasn't trying to make you mad, just, it was my initial reaction, my bad. Truth be told, I'm not exactly against open sex if it's equal in the sexes, if there were guys up there doing the same thing then it would be a little different, imo. To me, if it's equal it seems a little less "degrading" so-to-speak. But if you check the Sex and Sexuality forum, you'll find out that I'm weird, I have too many fetishes, and my opinion doesn't count.

I'm not really concerned about your opinion - if I started worrying about what people thought about who I am or what I do, I would have been in trouble a long time ago... fact is you can state your opinion without insulting someone and to call me classless or "I'm doing this just to get people in the bar" was in bad taste and insulting especially if you don't know all the facts which you obviously don't considering no one was on our stage "masturbating themselves"! The girl who was a costumer and who I might add came up on stage voluntarily to sit, with her clothes on (pants no skirt) on top of a Sybian! Wow! The Sybian was there for anyone who wanted to try it and that includes males if they so desired. So before YOU pull your bra off and burn it for all of womens rights and equality maybe you do need to get all the facts before you even form your opinion because you sure as hell don't know me, have no idea at all what I am all about or know what I think of women. I probably put them on a higher pedestal than you do so give me a break and learn how to state you're "fact filled opinions" with out calling someone out you know nothing about.
