Agreed!!! and I think all of us keeping this at the top of the list is also helping. It reminds us that we have support. Thanks everyone!!!!

Next thing for me is to conquer the exercise beast!!!

I'm going snowshoeing this weekend.. yay!!!! Lots of wintery fun there!

...which is why I am here.....to jack this thread when it needs a bump...(or when I'm bored)..& to do so in a humorous manner...like yelling at Tom...for touching the scale...

165lbs of dick is definitely not LITTLE.. ;)

Today's food is..

thealternativebagel.jpg

Not great for you carb watchers, but it's really good for those of us looking out for fat, calories, and fiber. :)

My favorite is the Roasted Onion, which has 110 calories, 0 fat, 7g fiber

Coupled with one of these..

300_82566.jpg

is YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually doing the same thing for breakfast, except with mini-bagels. Here's the breakdown:

2 mini-bagels, ranging from 119 to 130 per mini-bagel (depending on whole grain vs. normal) vs. up to 400 per normal size bagel.

2 packs of the Laughing Cow Cheese (one per mini-bagel) 45 cal (will edit when I can get home and read mine. I prefer garlic and herbs myself.)

1 banana at 130 cal. (approx.)

And it is good

It's probably got the devil's gonads in it, don't really care if it means fewer carbs, over half the calories and 7g fiber. I'm on board!! :)

good GAWD!!! 49g carbs? even WITH 7g fiber, I still wouldn't eat it, it's 240 calories..

On my cult plan that I'm on, that would cost me 4 points. My bagel costs me 1 point. I can eat 4 of my bagels as apposed to your 1 bagel. eek!!! I'll take mine.

lol I don't eat them that often. just for a snack, and even then, I only eat one. I only eat one a day. lol cept yesterday, i was in a rush and ate two lol

:) I can't eat certain foods, but anything whole wheat, or multi-grained.... i just have to be careful. cuz like i said before, a lot of "low carb" foods have loads more cholesterol. (not the bagels, i know :p ) but its something to watch for. I notice when I eat certain foods not on my list, i feel like shit. so i try and stay away from them. white bread anything makes me want to eat more, so i stay away from it, regardless how little carbs is in it, compared to the whole wheat. lol :) its just trial and error, what works, what doesn't. what works for me, won't work for you (or maybe, but maybe in bigger or smaller quantities) lol :)

but of course you all knew that lol

and I am getting my exercise. constantly cleaning the house and running after pigs... speaking of which............

stupid pig was eating something that's not suppose to be eaten by anyone...

ugh....

.....you!

but but but Rev, today is payday...and that's the day I always officially do it...and I'm still on the last belt notch. 208...

For all intents and purposes, this really started a year ago, I weighed 238 lbs. I got down to 220 by Summers end. This last 30ish lbs or so will be the final step in my transformation to getting back to healthy. :wink

There are ways of "nickel and diming" away calories to throughout the day.

Take the stairs. The rule I follow is "one up, two down," where you take the stairs if you only have to go up a floor or down two. The only reason I don't take stairs during the day is when I am carrying experimental material back and forth between my main lab on the 4th floor and the basement. I always take the stairs at least up and down the parking garage daily.

Isometric exercises:

At desk crunches. Tense up your abdominal muscles while you are sitting. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then release.

Curl your desk/workbench. Maintain good upright posture. Bend at the elbow, placing fingers under your desk. Now apply pressure as if you are trying to do a curl with as much force as tolerated, and hold for 5 to 10 seconds. No, not even I could lift a desk from sitting as I describe here.

While it won't make you buff, it will help burn some extra calories over the day. (I do the at desk crunches while I am on DGN...like now.)

there's a thread about staph skin infections...which you can pick up in gym showers and locker rooms.

Ah...I never dress in the locker room anyway, or shower there, I'm not getting my tubby ass nude in front of a bunch of strangers for NOBODY .

These are good ideas. I do a lot of walking in my job...when I actually have projects to work on. When I do surveying or am on a job site, I'm basically walking 7 out of the 8 hours or so that I am there. This keeps the calories burning.

My old apartment was on the 5th floor, and unless I was carrying groceries or other multiple bags, I'd always take the stairs, both up and down. It was great, I could eat whatever I wanted and burn it.

I'm thrilled about the externship I'm starting, because I'm going to be on my feet moving around all day. I wore my pedometer for my first day, and I had almost 2300 steps in a 4 hour shift!

Playing some DDR, only standard mode, I"m a little tired. Tonight I'm going to try and go for endurance by playing at a less difficult level, as opposed to speed training, which is so intense it's hard to last as long.

I DID find a nifty ass feature about the new DDR games for the 360. In past games you had to choose between either game mode (which is where you get graded on songs, build points to buy new stuff, unlock songs, etc) and workout mode (which tells you how many calories you've burned based on weight, and the equivalency to how many miles it would equal out to jogging), but on these new games they've fused both modes together so that you can do both in one mode and not have to choose between the two . There was one old version that did this, DDR Extreme for PS2 (third in the series out of six for that console), but for some reason they didn't have this option for any of the other PS2 games, glad they brought it back, it's more motivating.

Kay...well, my DDR keeps getting interrupted because I keep hearing freaky shit upstairs. Normally this would not alarm me...but nobody is home right now, and I know it's not me making the noises. I've gone up there twice to investigate already and nothing. I even went up to pee just for good measure, and still, empty house with the exception of the two mice in their cage and two rats in their bedroom.

SO, basically what I think I'm trying to say here is that apparantly there are dead people in my house, and they like fat chicks. Why the hell does shit like this always happen to me? Does this ever happen to anyone else?

I will bravely press onward and ignore them, but everytime there's a sound I think I'm getting broken into and I have to stop and turn the TV down to make sure, VERY counter-productive. And I just know that when Pest does get home, upon him walking through the door, I will probably shart in my shorts.
