GothicRavenGoddess (3)
if i had someone to exercise with, that'd be awesome. I'm too self conscious to do it around the oposite sex. I guess its easier, when your exercise partner can relate to you, better, have similar goals, and won't let you wimp out... plus, me being flabby, I'd feel more comfy around another female who is also a bit flabby LOL i love to exercise, and I'm still quite active (I have a mild form form of restless leg, and exercise and stretching seem to be the only thing that seems to help me sleep at night - seeing as it is at its worst, when I'm trying to go to sleep/over tired) so being lazy isn't an issue, because I'm not. so anyways... yeah... Good job everyone. I've kinda hit a plateau... not losing, not gaining.. but at least I'm not gaining! lol ^_^

KatRN05
Well, I had been trying to lose the same 150lbs for the last couple of years so I had gastric bypass in May. I've lost 74lbs since May and want to lose another 70lbs. I've been going to the YMCA in Southgate to use the elliptical and I go to a kickboxing class once week but I've been slacking the past week with my workout and diet diary. Sometimes it's hard to stay motivated. Anywho, I did make it to the gym today and I will be there tomorrow. prettystar1sky
So last Thursday the night before our trash pick up, Brandy came back from work and was like, "Val, did you know our neighbors across the street are throwing away a treadmill?! Let's get it!" So we grabbed a dolly and put it into the breezeway. Plugged it in and it worked!!!!! I guess they were throwing it away b/c the screen doesn't work telling you the distance or how many calories you burned. I really don't need that b/c the proof will be in the things I wear and how I feel. Another person's trash is sometimes another's answer! It's weird b/c earlier that day I was thinking of joining a gym but something told me not to! I love being able to just work out at home b/c the minute I'm done jogging in my own privacy I can just hop in the shower and relax.

Destroit
I always thought Punky sucked at DDR when really she just SAID that she sucked because she probably was too shy to play it around anyone else. WELL...I'd like to announce that not only is she a badass at the game without ever hardly even playing, she's no longer ALLOWED on beginner mode in my house because she is that naturally inclined towards it, and I honestly see the makings of a champion. She has stamina to match, well surpass really, my own, she gets into it and grooves instead of jerking about awkwardly like 99% of beginners do, has no inherent rhythm or stance issues, and loves playing. I JUST FOUND MY NEW DDR PARTNER! Eff you, Timata, go back to WoW , I play with Punky now. OKAY...fine, there's enough room for all three of us to play . KatRN05
Kickboxing was fun tonight. I actually stayed the entire 55 minutes. My legs are sore as hell though.
asphyxian_doll
I've lost 18 pounds ^_^ I lost it by starting off going to The Daily Plate and plugging in everything I ate, and every bit of exercise I partook in, while setting my activity level to the lowest(sitting, reclining) And did that for about a week until it became natural for me to chose healthy foods, organic/fruit/veggies/water and had it all in my head by the 1st month. I no longer use the site, because is second nature to count calories, as WELL as make sure I eat right. (eating cake, cookies, and sugar shit while counting calories might aid in weight loss but will make you very sick) I burn around 500-700 calories a day, so I eat around 2,000 - 2,200 a day.....and when I'm super lazy, I eat around 1,500 - 1,700 I've lost 2 pounds a week steadily since I started doing this. EAF (1)
My biggest problem with wanting to get in shape is I don't want to lose a figure...I like being curvery. Pluse i'm scared my cup size will go down wich is one big plus for my ego right now...one of few. I want to be in shape due to health reasons. Diabeties, heart disease, certains cancers, and obesity run on both sides of my family. I want to be healthy when starting my family, my b/f is very loving of how I am currently but I want to be in shape for when I have children and to overall just feel better about being me. I don't believe I look horrible for what my weight really is so that is a plus, but I weigh a lot more than people ever peg me at. Dieting is hard due to my time I have to eat, I normally eat a few chunk meals...lots of calories but not much substance at times since it has to be quick. I don't have a lot of money so at times it's what I can afford rather than what is better for me. My b/f is a skinny guy who can whatever he wants so at times being exsposed to his eating habits makes it very hard to pick something healthy.I hate to exercie but there are a few things I want to get into. Was wondering if anyone knew of anyone who teaches or knows bellydancing (tribal/fusion/traditional) or maybe latin dance? I need support for sure. I tried to ask my doctor about pointers, but she was really no help at all as far as how to lose weight, just that I needed to. To be healthy I think I need to lose probably 100lbs and the thought is very daunting. Help!
kat (1)
so does anyone want to get together and workout? I've lost 86lbs in the last six months and the first thing anyone ever commented on was "Wow, you've lost weight, yeah I can tell because your boobs are getting smaller.."...Needless to say, I have a complex about it now. KatRN05
Stalls are a normal part of the process. It usually means you need to change something in your diet or your workout. I found that I needed to increase my protein intake and change the intensity of my workouts which is why I take Krav Maga twice a week because getting on an elliptical or treadmill day after day was boring and it was only exercising the same muscles over and over. With Krav, I'm exercising muscles that I wouldn't normally be exercising while on a treadmill or elliptical.
kat (1)
I heard that Krav was very intense though.
KatRN05
It is but it's such a great workout. I go to The Fighting Fit in Wyandotte. They will let you sit in on a class and watch to see if its something you'd be interested in doing.

kat (1)
I used to go to Powerhouse and Fitness but am trying to decide which one I wanna go back too, although after I had my son I used a pilates video and lost like 35 lbs quick along with Atkins diet. (which is why I have gained the weight and then some back).
