I been going to Medical Weight loss. I just got an injection of a lipo booster. It has all kinds of vitamins and amino acids in it. I got one a few months ago and started losing inches like crazy. Hoping it helps me again, along with some pilates at home. I'm also suppose to start a 3 day cleanse on Monday. blah

...I still have like 2 or 3 pounds (maybe 5) to loose...sit ups are a bitch...when my drivin' force is to gets some miniatures painted up.....but, the girlfriend wants me to 'throw her around' more often...so, push ups, sit ups, & some of the 'dire yoga' my peoples are fond of should oughta' do it...got to stay fit, you know...

Almonds Almond joy! Almonds are high in alpha-linolenic acid, which can speed the metabolism of fats. Stick to 12 per serving.

Berries Vitamin C–loaded fruit such as strawberries and raspberries can help you sizzle up to 30 percent more fat during exercise, suggests research from Arizona State University at Mesa. Blend a vinaigrette of 1 cup berries and ¼ cup balsamic vinegar.

Cinnamon This spice could make your waistline nice. Sprinkling ¼ teaspoon on your food may prevent a postmeal insulin spike—this increase normally occurs after you eat and "signals the body that it should store fat rather than burn it," explains Lauren Slayton, R.D., of New York City. Add a dash to your oatmeal, yogurt or coffee.

Mustard Hello, yellow. The spice that gives mustard its color, turmeric, may slow the growth of fat tissues, a study in the journal Endocrinology notes. Eighty-six mayo in favor of any mustard; sprinkle turmeric on cauliflower and roast for a tangy side.

Oranges Prevent pound creep with this citrus star: It contains fat-torching compounds called flavones. Women who ate the most flavones had a significantly lower increase in body fat over a 14-year period, a study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition finds. Snack on slices or drink freshly squeezed OJ (with pulp!) for the biggest payback.

Soybeans These green gems are rich in choline, a compound that blocks fat absorption and breaks down fatty deposits. Add ½ cup edamame to a salad.

Sweet potatoes Trade up to sweet taters. They're high in fiber, which means no drastic insulin jumps and thus less fat packed onto your hips. Bake a small sweet potato—think of two bars of soap as a portion size—and top with a dollop of lowfat or nonfat cottage cheese.

Swiss cheese Holy cow: "Calcium-rich foods reduce fat-producing enzymes and increase fat breakdown," says Michael B. Zemel, Ph.D., director of the Nutrition Institute at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Put toe to toe with some of its cheesy counterparts, Swiss is a heavy hitter in the calcium department; layer a slice on a lunchtime sandwich, or stack some on high-fiber crackers.

I would LOVE TO ANNOUNCE:

FUCK YES! FINALLY!

Pestilence also goes with me. He has not an ounce of fat on his entire person but would like to build muscle. I'm not quite sure how it's possible to build muscle being a robot and all, but I just humor him and enjoy his company none-the-less.

AND...our fairly thick friend, Timata, who is at 260 lbs atm also signed on and is GUNG-HO motivated about losing weight. I've been trying to train him in weights (without prior knowledge of weight training you can injure yourself or have an ineffective workout) and have been giving him tips to effective cardio. We're going to be a slim household, yes we are! It'll be funny seeing him skinny too because as long as he's been my Bro he's always been around 250-300, the lowest he went down was 230 when we were playing Dance Dance Revolution regularly. Now with the gym plus DDR we will be unstoppable fit, toned, and svelte forces of nature! :evil:

LOL good for you.

Tips I got from the dialysis tech who is a personal trainer...

1. drink lots of water

2. lift weights at least three times a week

3. More weight, less reps. He said to just do ten reps.

4. Cardio for at least 30 minutes before weights.

So I'm gonna give this a try. I'm trying to tone up. He told me after I get toned, I can decrease the amount of weight I lift and do more reps. Workout buddies are great but I prefer to go it alone.

I need serious help.

I'd like enjoy more vegetables but most make me gag (literally).

I'd be thrilled if I liked brocclli, cauliflower, onions, olives, mushrooms etc... but everytime I try to eat any of these I gag and I can't swallow them. I'd also like to cut out red meat but ribs and steak are my two favorite foods.

I need serious help.

I'd like enjoy more vegetables but most make me gag (literally).

I'd be thrilled if I liked brocclli, cauliflower, onions, olives, mushrooms etc... but everytime I try to eat any of these I gag and I can't swallow them. I'd also like to cut out red meat but ribs and steak are my two favorite foods.

Broccoli isn't too bad if it's steamed with a little butter. I hate cauliflower. I don't mind onions and mushrooms although I prefer them cooked and not raw. Green beans are good. I find myself eating a lot of salads with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, feta, some walnuts and fat free dressing because its easy to throw one together.

I have about three hours before Krav, I just ate one of the chocolate peanut butter protein balls that I made yesterday. I'm gonna whip up a protein shake before class. After class I'm going to the gym to lift weights.

I really wanna lose weight and always go on "diets" and try to work out...but my diets last a week at the most and my working out gets boring since I have no gym equipment and am too poor to join a gym. I always honestly forget about my diets and trying to eat healthy and just go to the store and grab a pop and candy or something or eat something I said I wasn't gonna eat or eat too much of something. And I always start a work out routine (if you can call it that) and then just forget about it one day and it's never to be seen again or just stop doing it cause it gets boring and there are only so many things you can do by yourself in your room with no work out equipment. I'm gonna try though. I REALLY wanna and probably need to lose some weight.

it's great that you want to work on this, and you'll find a lot of support around here! couple of comments...

1) diets never work. find relatively healthy foods you dig, and stick to those. find creative yet easy recipies (i think there's a thread on the board for this) but the biggest thing to watch is *portion control*. also, if you have a food that you absolutely must have, eat it, just limit how much. if you try to avoid all the "bad-for-me" stuff, you're bound to fall to a craving, so allow yourself a little bit, to satisfy the craving. also, if you can't get away from sodas yet, at least switch to diet. not the best choice, but will drastically cut calories!

2) exercise doesn't have to be "gym stuff", nor dvd's for tv. yardwork, walks with an intermitten jog/sprint (like up to the store & back), hell, even housework if you go about it the right way (constantly moving, vaccuuming, bending to clean things, etc) can count.

3) it's said that it takes a minimum of three weeks to break an old habit/develop a new one. set yourself a timeframe for 1 month, and commit to only that (at first). by the time you make that 1 month, you'll likely be into the "workout/diet" habit, and it will be a lot easier to maintain.

also if your looking to use some type of weights, use household items to counter what you dont have.. grab a couple cans of soup or use some old laundry soap bottles and fill them with water.... be creative :) it works just aswell as store bought stuff :)
