so...i got the wii fit.

who'd of thunk that playing video games is good for your health

hhehehe You're keeping your wii fit.. :innocent:

Actually, I've been thinking about getting the Wii (for the second time.. don't ask what happened to the first ..gRRR). I loved that game system, anyway, I want that Jillian Michaels Wii workout. I want her to yell at me and call me a fat slob and junk. I think it would be great!!! hehe.. anyway, if I did get that game system, I think I'd actually have to buy a TV.. :fear:

Anyway.. I've been going to the gym every day now. I usually do cardio and abs, on the weekends, I've been swimming laps, and Christmas did kick my butt, because the gym wasn't open, BUT I did go the past two days in a row, and I will go again tomorrow. I realize that if I say I am going every other day, I will find an excuse to not go some of those days, and then I'm only going a couple days a week. I am an all or none type of gal when it comes to exercise. Soooo... I just go every day, and if I miss a day, it's no big deal. I was told that cardio is OK to do every day, so I've been doing that, if it's swimming or the machines.

I work on the weight thingies every other day, but sometimes not as many times as I just do ab workouts. I figured I'm going to try to promote lean muscles, and not bulk up. I am thinking about throwing some Yoga into the mix, so I don't have to pump iron. Those machines make me think they're mid-evil torture devices, and am slightly creeped out by them.

Apparently I was good this past year, because that Santa guy was awfully nice to me. I got a really nice pair of snowshoes, that means winter fun outside for me!! w00t!!! By spring, I hope to have lost some 20 lbs..

25 minutes on the eliptical last night, 30 (I think, it might have been closer to 35) tonight. I'm going to make an effort to do at least 20 minutes per day, with 40 as my goal. I need to figure out an exercise that I can stand that works my abs.

I am going to wait until after my birthday with the watching what I eat, since I know we are going to an Italian restaurant on my birthday, and it has always been easier for me to watch what I eat when I am working.

So after Friday I'm going to start trying to lose weight again. With dad in the hospital last week I was eating everything in sight it seemed, since I'm an emotional eater. We are doing a belated Christmas dinner on Friday with the family so I don't want to restrict myself from the prime rib. I have a pilates DVD and a treadmill so I'm going to start using those regularly again and hopefully can drop at least 20 pounds by my birthday.

What I do when I'm watching some TV instead of sitting on the couch--- I take my two 5 pound weights, hold them with my elbows bent at a 90 degree angle while standing up moving in a rotation motion working my core. Sometimes while doing this I add punches while holding the weights. I do this until I'm too tired of moving that way. Next I would hold the wights at my side, arms straight and do side crunches. Really feel your obliques squeeze. Do at least 25x on each side work up to doing 100x for each side. Another fun one for your back is I would take my arms up a little bit, elbows bent slightly and pulse/squeeze your back. Like you have wings and your flying...

Then I do some arm lifts: biceps and triceps.

I also have the bean to do crunches, etc on too. But that one sometimes gets too comfortable and I just lay on it! :X

standing knee lifts will work your lower abs.standing side kicks will also work your sides. if you prefer to sit, you can scoot your butt to the edge of the chair you're in and then just hold your legs straight out, feet off the floor, and hold for as long as you can. repeat until you can't!

Cool realization...now, try to delete the programming in your head.

OUCHIE OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!! I have been running some lately, but realized that I did something incredibly stupid. I have been running, and not protecting myself from injury. I was going to the gym every day, but I was wearing a very old pair of shoes. I went to Hansen's Running Shop, and they analized my feet, and then watched how I walked. Then they recommended a pair of shoes for me. I paid $100 bucks for the ugliest pair of shoes I swear I have ever bought, but if it will save me from further injury, it's worth the money.

The guy told me also, what type of injury I have "Iliotibial Band Syndrome" believe me, it hurts.

Anyway, if you guys are going to exercise, make sure you are wearing the proper gear for what it is you're doing. Sometimes paying a little extra money now, will save you money down the road from injury and just plain not wanting to go for fear of hurting yourself.

I guess it's swimming for me till the pain and inflammation subsides. *sighs*

About to go to the gym for some cardio and weight training, unsupervised, which is dangerous because I push myself too hard and can barely drive home after.

Yeap, my arms are noodles, barely made it home.

Believe me I'm trying. With the stress from dad's surgery and soon to be radiation/chemotherapy, instead of eating when I'm freaking out I have some water. Makes me feel full without gaining weight. Only downside is that I have to pee more than a pregnant woman lol.

Splenda is an interesting subject. Chemically, its a sugar molecule with three chlorine atoms pasted on...yes, the highly poisonous gas. Well, the "point" of said add-ons was to make the molecule indigestible so it just passes through your system. However, it doesn't just pass through, a high percentage of that stuff is broken down...and then you have some dissociated chlorine floating around in your system <3

Aspartame....horrid tasting, but if you drink enough of it, you are quickly addicted (I know this because I was once an A-addict). Long term abuse can lead to memory loss because as your body breaks this stuff down, it metabolises it in the form of formaldehyde...yup, embalming fluid
