I am back down to 209! ^_^ 9 more lbs and I'll be back down to 200! (HUGE mile marker, in my book) 180 is my next mile marker. I'm so excited!!!

Being sick has its advantages, cuz anything with sugar in it (not just sweet, but has sugar in it) tastes nasty to me...

most things with artificial sweeteners aren't so bad lol so staying on the diet is relitvly easy... :) and I'm eating because I have to. I haven't felt hunger in several days now.... (almost a full week, actually)

the seven deadly workout sins:

1. Skipping the warm-up. Doing too much too quickly will send your heart rate soaring and put unprepared muscles and joints at a high risk for injury. For beginners, rapid increases in heart rates can lead to lightheadedness, nausea, dizziness, fainting or even heart attacks and stroke. Muscles need time to adjust to the demands placed on them during exercise. Before hitting the weight room or jumping into your regular cardio workout, you should take a few minutes to gently prepare the body for heavier activity -- walking slowly is one example.

2. Jumping into the sauna or hot tub immediately following a workout. The temperatures of saunas and hot tubs can be detrimental to a body that already has elevated temperatures and blood vessels that are dilated from activity. Your body needs to dissipate heat in order to bring your heart rate back to a resting zone and re-circulate blood back to your organs. High temperatures in hot tubs and saunas will cause lightheadedness, dizziness, fatigue, nausea or worse: heat exhaustion, heat stroke and heart attacks. Instead, try a cool shower or allow your heart rate to return to resting levels before getting into the saunas and tubs.

3. Holding your breath while lifting weights. Breath holding, also known as the valsalva maneuver, during weightlifting increases blood pressure significantly, leading to lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea, hernia, heart attack or stroke. To avoid creating high internal pressures, inhale and exhale with each exercise phase of a repetition and breathe naturally during cardiovascular activity.

4. Not having a physical prior to beginning an exercise program. You want to have the most benefit with the least amount of risk and it would never be wrong for you to get a complete check-up prior to beginning activity -- especially if you are over 45 or have other risk factors like smoking, hypertension, high cholesterol or obesity. If you meet two of the above criteria, you are considered to be at risk for heart disease, diabetes and stroke. While exercise is the best thing for your condition, beginning a program without the proper guidelines can do you more harm than good.

5. Exercising above your determined heart rate range. Continually pushing your heart rates to the maximal limits during your cardiovascular workouts is overstressing your heart and lungs unnecessarily. When your heart rate is up to maximal loads, there is a greater chance for irregular heart rhythms. You don't need to place such high demands on your heart to see cardiovascular benefits or to burn fat. If you are apparently healthy, the recommended range is 55-85 percent of your maximal heart rate.

6. Using hand or ankle weights while walking or during aerobic classes. Many fitness guidelines indicate that the use of hand weights during the aerobic portion of step training produces little, if any, increase in energy expenditure or muscle strength. The risk of injury to shoulder joints is significantly increased when weights are rapidly moved through a larger range of motion. It's recommended that hand weights be reserved for strength training, where speed of the movement can be controlled.

7. Not listening to your body. Abnormal heart beats, pain, chest pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, prolonged fatigue or insomnia following intensive exercise are signs of an over-trained body that may be at high risk for a heart attack or injury. Take a hint, and slow the down the pace or reduce the number of routines. It would be advisable to have a medical professional assess your condition if you experience any of the major warning signs of cardiac distress during an exercise session. If any symptoms persist during or following an exercise session, have your signs evaluated.

sometimes it varies when I'm sick... depending on the nature of the thing.... sometimes i can't eat enough.... other times, like this time, I eat because i have to, not because I want to.. but i'm guessing that its because I'm not getting enough sleep, and I'm just too tired to care. lol :)

i felt hunger the other day, but it was faint, and didn't last long... i was too busy coughing and sneezing to care lol :)

I kinda just realized that I eat when I'm bored, when I'm busy, I forget to eat, and could care less, untill I get all sick and and cold and tired because my blood sugar drops, but even then, if I'm busy, I still have no desire to actually eat. I am just reminded to because others around me are telling me to eat.

With that being said, I finally (after a long arse time) got my ps2 to ps3 controller adapter, along with an extra dance pad. Cher, prepared to be WRECKED!!!! and PWNED in DDR!!! w00t!!!! Umm give me at least a good month. ;)

Today I planned on gaining a pound via Paczki.. Me plans have been foiled thus far :verymad:

Buuut, I may have some chocolate, cuz I am completely giving it up for Lent.. Not that I have been eating it lately anyhow.. Except the day before me girly time...

Now, this is only a back-up plan in case the Paczki plan completely fails.

All in all I am celebrating FAT Tuesday no matter what

Cuz I deserve it

Since TitsMcGee put up a motivational pic, I thought I would do mine:

This is me, circa 2002-2003. I was well within the weight standards that I had to maintain.

I still have to maintain them. Damned physical disad will kill me otherwise.

I still get livid at myself for letting it go this far. Though medical school and residency did have a significant impact on my workout abilities.

I think I need to come over and give you a run through . Are you playing on carpet? You may also be thinking that you are hitting the note and aren't, there's a fullllll strategy you have to get down and it's like picking up an instrument so it's a bit tricky at first.

Everyone's got their weakness, some people always feel that after stepping on a note that they have to put their feet back in the middle of the pad (which is HORRIBLE because after awhile as you get faster, it's impossible to hit every note doing this)

Some people can't hit the back button for shit.

Some people, i.e. myself, can't backstep :blushing:. You aren't advanced enough to know what backstepping is yet, but let's just say I've been playing against my friend Timata for about a year now, I trained him from being a beginner up to heavy mode and HE can backstep like it's nothing, yet for some odd reason I CANNOT (in most instances, I get it every so often).

Your problem might be jumps (that's actually Timata's problem). I should come over and help ya out with it! Or at least make sure there's nothing wrong with your pad.

As for PS1 versions? You can, but they're harder and don't have many good songs on them. It's always nice to go back and revisit the classics, especially since that's where DDR first started (other than arcades), and you can pick up copies of the old games for cheap.

Yes, I'm playing on carpet.

It's like in Kung Fu, the student always surpasses the master.. :shuriken:

OK you probably need to come over, because I feel stupid trying to figure out this video game stuff. I've had a ps3 for almost 2 years, and this is the first game i bought for it. hehe.. I know I suck.
