The Biggest Loser DGN Style

I know I asked on Facebook, but which gym? Just curious.

I try to go five days a week and INTENSELY (think: men, or Schwarzenegger...or possibly Chuck Norris, but now I think I'm just kissing my own ass) weight train three days a week. Then I fall asleep in their hot tub. I do arms on Monday, Abs/Core Wednesday, and legs Friday. Every other week I switch exercises (variety is the key to building, your body will get bored and say "eff you" if you don't) from machines to free weights (also machines vs. free weights do different things to your muscles) and do at least 30 minutes of cardio a day.

w00t! Skinny-bitch Chernobyl is on her waaaay! 'Bout fucking time.

Yep.. Cardio is the first thing I do.. After stretching ;)

I go to Snap Fitness.. They are 24 hours :jamin

& Yeah.. We shall be the most buff bitches on DGN soon :bunny:

Ah, and they're right by your house, aren't they?

I'm heading for the gym right now, w00t. Hoping to burn another 400 calories

OH and....! I've lost six pounds in the last week and a half :happydance

::knock knock::

Hi guys! I'm jumping in and joining this thread. I won't say my current weight, but I will say that I want to lose at least 60 pounds! And it's going to happen. I've been overweight most of my life but it's been getting worse and worse, and now I realize I've gained 30 lb in the last ~year or 18 months or so, since coming back from Japan. Unacceptable. I've always been overweight, but I was still comfortable with myself - now I'm just fat, and that will change. Anyway, I think I missed this thread's heyday, but if people are still around doing it, I'll be part of your group from now on. :)

Coming from someplace as awesome and efficient as Japan and going to America will do that to anyone  . It's good to see fresh motivation, go Osaka! :animier: We're all rooting for your progress.

Speaking of Japan...you should come over and DDR with me! That is the only way Otaku should workout  .

Actually, the only reason I learned to play that at ALL was getting StepMania and a cheapo Taiwan controller back while I was in Japan to try to lose weight. I suck at it, but it is fun. But I no longer have any of that stuff. I don't own any video game systems, but thanks to Riku, I now have every NES and SNES game ever made on an emulator on my PC. XDXDXD As well as a controller USB adapter. So if I can get an emulator and a dance pad, I can play. Anyone have any advice on how to make this happen? Where can I get an emulator, and where can I buy a gamepad (not a cheapo plastic sheet piece of crap one that won't register my steps, but also not a $200 hard arcade-worthy one)?

It was walking several miles a week and eating mostly fish and such, vs driving everywhere and eating a lot of fast food that did it. Stupid lazy American lifestyle. Also, it's really easy to eat healthy and cheap (under $4) there by picking up a pre-made home-cooked-style bento at any grocery store (like fish and rice and veggies), or even pay only $6 for a satisfying-meal-sized package of sushi to go, but here the only way to eat on-the-run for around $5 is fast food and it's sooooo bad. D:D: Fucking America.

And I resent being called an otaku. I am an OTAKU-DOM SURVIVOR. :p Though people keep trying to drag me back in...bad Riku, bad!!

Krav was good last night. I was sore as hell after and sweating tons. I can tell I'm getting stronger, I can do more push-ups now than before when I started training. I guess the weight-lifting is helping also. I'm taking the day off today from working out and will hit the gym tomorrow morning after work and then Sunday afternoon.

I will be at the gym by 5:30 am at the latest :bunny:

Same here. I meant to go today but I got sidetracked after I got off work this morning so I didn't go to sleep until 11am. I did do a minute of crunches, a minute of squats, a minute of push-ups. I did some weight-lifting but not the normal stuff I usually do. Have a good workout!

It's so easy to burn out thats why I signed up for Krav Maga, I figure it beats having to go to the gym 5 days a week. I'm getting ready to go to the gym now then Krav tonight.

down another 2 lbs :) 3 more to go before the years out! total loss so far 50 lbs :bunny:

Congrats!

Last night was my work's holiday party and I danced a good majority of the night so I'm counting that as my work-out. Tonight, I have KM at 6pm. Anyhow, I'm having post-holiday party self-esteem issues. I saw some pics on my friends facebook this morning and I look so huge (fuck you, camera) despite the fact that I've lost 94lbs.

I've lost about 10 lb in the last 2 and a half weeks. I was hoping for 20 in the first month so I'm probably a little behind that, but ..I'm still feeling okay with it. I don't notice any difference in appearance yet but it's only been 18 days. I'm trying to do "desk exercises" like stomach clenching (fake crunches) and leg lifts, but I haven't done any real exercise yet. I need to go to the gym...but I have so much I want to get done in the next couple weeks that I'm having a hard time figuring out how I'll have the time. I need to make at LEAST 3 skirts between now and Christmas and it's just not happening.

It took me a few months just to lose 10 lbs., but I can't starve myself like I used to years ago. Anyway, at least I've kept the weight off and have been more active in Portland.
