::VNV Nation::

VNV Nation´s inspiration was originally the clash of modern and classical Europe cultures, where mythology and technology live in an uneasy fusion but this has broadened to encompass a world view. The music ranges in style from electronic dance music to ballads and classical inspired music. Inspirations are taken from a wide range of styles including contemporary underground club culture, industrial and classical music. The lyrics draw on philosophy, literature, art, politics and different forms of symbolism. VNV Nation does not advocate any ideology. It is a metaphor for expression.

::SOMAN::

SOMAN ( sound producers for both Terminal Choice and Absurd Minds ) deliver a unique and incomparable mixture of sound structures, taking noise, electro, industrial and HARSH techno to devastating effect. From tracks such as 'Ignition', onto the successful club anthems such as 'Divine' and 'Pan Tau' to the vocal version of 'Tears' with its debut breathy female vocals and pummeling hard beats - SOMAN delivers and is not to be missed live.

You can visit SOMAN on the web at www.soman.de

::Imperative Reaction::

Gaining immediate attention for their stunning debut ( some years ago on the legendary Zoth Ommog label ) then returning with the brilliant 'Ruined' in 2002, US electro act Imperative Reaction recently returned with their eagerly awaited third album 'Redemption'. Finally coming into a league of their own, this new release establishes them as a major contender in the field of dancefloor electro - combining aggressive, uncompromising and relentless beats with smooth programming, highly charging sequences and accentuated vocals. With releases consistantly delivering full on dancefloor electro with melody, structure and class, expect a highly charged live show from Imperative Reaction.

A show 'report' from the new VNV tour for those interested.

Hamburg and Dresden Germany were both treated to the new show.

Opening band SOMAN played just a short half-hour set, but there techno-noise is the perfect warmup act for VNV. Expect some quick techno and future-pop like rhythms mixed with some noise elements. get there early and don't miss this act!!!

Imperative Reaction is only on the U.S. portion of the tour.

VNV themselves were joined on stage by 2 additional synth players - Kolja (from the above mentioned SOMAN) and Vasi Vallis (from future-pop act NamNambulu) and Mark Jackson as well as Ronan Harris spend a LOT of time playing the synths as well.

Both shows in Germany had Ronan joking with each crowd as well as being his usual energetic self. Show is nearly two hours in length!!!

setlist from Hamburg:

So Detroit, looks like it'll be another good show with a mixture of older and newer material and 2 additional musicians possibly joing them on stage like in Germany.

Hope to see you all at the Majestic show.

Going to kraftwerk that week... I am sorry, as much as I like VNV and I know you crazy kids are into that hepcat stuff, I do enjoy the vintage of a fine Pocket Calculator

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yeah but I doubt Kraftwerk's show has changed much since 1998 when they were at the state theatre.

You ever get into the KW spinoffs like Yamo and Elektric Music? Elektric music sounds like future pop!

I wish VNV Nation didn't cost over $20 but whatever.
