DGN @ City Club, Saturday, January 17th.

Come. Join us. Meet us. Hang out. We're not that scary in person, really.

Leland City Club

400 Bagley Street

Downtown Detroit

You enter by going through an unmarked door on the First Street side of the Ramada Hotel building, located at 400 Bagley Street in downtown Detroit. The club is at the top of the stairwell. (see picture in the link above in the DGN calendar entry)

All are welcome. Come meet some of us weirdos.

Saturday nights from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Alcoholic drinks until 2:00 a.m., pop and juices served all night.

Admission is $4

18 and up, 21 to drink with proper ID (no exceptions).

No drugs, weapons, chains or spikes.

We've had reports that the CC parking lot will not break $20 bills or larger, so try to bring smaller bills with you.

Zoom able map to City Club.

MDOT lane closures

(The map isn't quite exact. The Leland is located within the Bagley, 1st, Cass, Plaza Dr. block.)

In case you don't know the "DGN Corner" is to the right of the bar. Currently theres a table, pillar and long narrow wooden table, impossible to miss. Come say hello. If no one is there, stay there, they will show up.

Note:

If your NOT going this isn't the place to post about it.

If ARE going (or likely going) to CITY CLUB ON SATURDAY this is where you let us know and we encourage you to do so. Not about some other place, some other club or some other thing your doing instead.

Posts that are off topic should be avoided , and may be deleted in pinned topics.

I was planning on making it out that night, but ...

Last night I get an IM from a friend stating she got a fetish show dumped in her lap and she desperately needs help with it. So, I drove out to her place today to help her with planning and choreography and stuff. Then we have a couple rehearsals this week and the actual show is Saturday night at the I-Rock nightclub in Detroit. I think our set is at 11pm so I should be able to make it out to City afterwards.

Once I get more details, I'll probably make a new post for the gig so you should all come out and see that, then we can caravan over to CC for the afterparty.

I had wanted to go, but as of right now I am nursing a sore throat and a sprained ankle. If both aren't 100% healed by Saturday, then I'm a no go. I tried the going-to-City-while-getting-over-a-sore-throat routine once last spring. Effing miserable night that was.

J9's LAST NIGHT of dj'ing, I can't miss this!

I want to make it out there for the same reason. She will be missed. :bye2:

Yeah...we're going to try to make it out for that same reason. If not, she'll come to our house and hang out.

Yeah, we're so cool, J9 hangs with us...and wants to play in our DGN Game nights too!! :jamin

If I am not too drunk from my coworkers taking me out after my last day, I'll head down to continue to celebrate. I might still be in my scrubs though. I'll wear my black scrubs that day, just in case =P. Now, who's couch am I sleeping on?

Does it have to be a couch??

    • ~~~~~ Yeah, thank you for the check-in.   Happy to say it was all a misunderstanding.  But she pulled out her "ghetto" and that's when things went South.  I get very professional minded when I enter into situations like that because when someone starts bring the court into conversations, I'm in court 2 times a year, every year, so don't go there with me because I will get legal all over you.   She did try to change what she thought she might have said, but I had to call her on it because it's all in written text.  Then she apologized and we were able to have a decent conversation.   I know I joke about me talking so much that people don't hear what I say except for keywords that they are looking for, but that is exactly what happened here.  She heard "payment", "money" and "help out".  It was crazy.  I literally had to have the entire conversation all over again, but I definitely condensed it to only address those 3 words.   Things are back on track, but I emphasized that if she every needed clarification for anything, please say something first instead of jumping to conclusions, then questioning that conclusion, then answering that conclusion, then getting upset at the answer and taking it out on someone who doesn't have a clue what the San Juan Hill just happened.   But this is exactly the reason I do everything with a paper trail.

    • I'm glad  that yesterday's day at work is long gone now. There was a very strong unusual energy that I felt, and couldn't get done with the day fast enough. It wasn't  the job at all. I just felt like I really needed to keep my mouth shut, to keep me from getting in situation(s) that probably wouldn't have ended well for me.
    • You can trust anyone you want.  The only question is whether or not they're deserving of that trust. No risk = no reward.  As such you have to let yourself be vulnerable sometimes and realize that all people will let you down eventually whether it's intentional or not.  The frequency that it happens is what's important.
    • Sorry, I don't check this as often as I should. Anyway document everything (although it sounds like @Trene4000already has been from her post.) It's okay to cry and break down, but not in front of them.  Never give them the satisfaction of seeing you crack.  If anything I'd go out of my way to piss them off, but I don't like being that guy either (and as such I'm not very good at it, except sometimes when I'm not intending to be.) I try to only help those whom deserve it, but that's often hard to judge.  Seeing how someone treats other people is a pretty good indicator of whether or not they're worthy.  Sociopathic narcissistic asshats are very much not worthy. I hope things are going well for you guys.
