Good clubs to go to?

Hi everyone!! I'm new to all this but the bf and I decided it'd be fun to hit up a goth club! I just got my sexy leather outfit in the mail today and I'm ready to go. Only problem is, I'm from the Lansing area and although I've searched online, I'm having a hard time FINDING clubs. Any help would be appreciated!

Only an hour and a half to Detroit for City Club Fri or Sat!　Or an hour to Ann Arbor for Necto on Mondays. People have driven further. :D

Thank you! I have found both of those. My concern with City Club is that I don't want to stay in the hotel there. I've had a bad experience. The club itself sounds great, though. Any recommendations for places to stay in that area that are a tid bit "nicer"?

Necto...that looked pretty cool, too. My bf lives near Howell so really, it's not that far. We don't mind driving...if you know of any that are perhaps in Toronto or anything like that, let me know?

Those are the only two *I* know...as I've only moved here myself last year. But maybe someone else will have more ideas. Sorry, I know I gave super obvious answers and you were looking for something a little more in depth! But I've only lived here 8 months! haha

(There's Luna too which isn't bad but by no means ever a goth club so I didn't mention them. Sometimes there are pretty cool events at Clutch Cargos or the Crofoot but those are both in Pontiac which is probably even further from you. There's also like the Works but that's also in Detroit so equidistant to CC.)

I don't have any staying recommendations because I always drive home. You could always drive out of the city on your route home and stop at a cheap Motel 6 type place for like $40 or so. But if you are looking for somewhere you don't have to drive at ALL (ie if you are drinking) I'm not sure there's any other option within walking distance.

Yep, that pretty much seems to be what I've found. Because of work, I can only hit up the clubs/bars in the weekends so that shoots down a few for me. Thank you for that link, I did look around on here but by the time I found this site, I was so annoyed with searching I wanted to pull my hair out.

Do you know of any that are perhaps in GR or maybe even into Ohio, perhaps Toronto or something?

I also remember seeing the Westin out the window :)

In my wildest of musings, I thought about renting a apt. in the Leland, and stay there on the nights/weekends I wanna be in downtown Detroit, I think some of the rent is very reasonable... hehe

I was about to suggest the same thing. I have stayed at the Leland and thought it was cool.... was waiting to see a ghost or something.

DJ Darks Choir host a Wednesday Night in Bowling Green OH South of Toledo - that might be too far but from what I hear, it beats anything going on in Detroit by a mile. There are plenty of hotels around. The next time I have some time off I'm gonna go check that out.

Yes. I used to live in that area. It is called IGUN. (Industrial Gothic Underground Night)

Audioflesh is also another kick ass DJ that's down there.

Yes, it is packed every week.

Yes, it does have a lot of decent hotels around the area.

Yes, it is the biggest alternative club in Ohio. (They pull around 300~ people a week)

It's only about 15-20 minutes south of Toledo.

Ok then yes - that is the one and I want to so go there. I have time for my night on Thursdays and then the band takes up all of my Fridays (Both of my days off) so it is hard for me to make it anywhere else.... I wanted to go to Deadline last night but couldn't (Yes Scary and Moondance - I was gonna come up!) Maybe next week.

So.... if I get some time off and want to go - does anyone want to form a convey and roll down to Ohio? We can do Waffle House on the way back... got ta love Waffle House!

I haven't been to Ohio in years ever since I DJ'ed that one night at Westley's Bar & Grill. Others can give you more information than I can. Sorry my list is only for the Detroit area (although I'll add information gladly).

Second I'll take information off if someone reports it as closed/no longer going on.

Whoa, that's pretty awesome.

I thought the Lab was closed? Damn. I'm out of the loop again!

I added that for someone on another forum because he said it was going on. Until someone says otherwise I'm leaving it up there. I also think it's a techno night (since the other forum isn't just goth) I should go edit my post and remove it because it's probably dead now too.
