Mill Avenue Vexations Volume 10

The artwork itself is not by me, but commissioned artists (who I will laud here in the post,) the rest of it is mine. The largess of the work is actually the writing that goes between the covers, but I also do the lettering and layout for every copy. This is the small image, clicking it brings up the large one.

Front cover is by Del Borovic (info on Vexations) who I've been working with for two covers so far (one unpublished.) In this work she has created an image displaying Vex Harrow, the main character, one of the current minor characters, and the titular character who happens to be stuck in the mirror.

Back cover is by Katie De Sousa (info on Vexations). The really amazing thing about Katie is that she works for an indie video game company, Infinite Ammo. Whose members have done amazing work and while they haven't released anything as a group yet, they certainly seem to be promising some interesting returns.

Originally, I wanted to reverse the first "R" in "mirror" on the cover but the publication deadline came up too quickly for me to complete the artwork change and test it out. As a result, the covers are going to be this way right now. Also, a reversed "R" seemed like it might be too gimmicky--although possibly fun.

There are also individual back/white chapter headings that go into the layout, every booklet has three chapters and thus three headings. It took me a while before I found a good artist for them; but they generally come out extremely well. I might post them here as well.

Thanks, this is one of my favorites so far. I am especially happy to be able to use Katie's image of Vex Harrow because she did such a superb job at it.

I just got a message back from the printers that the first run is done, so I'm going to be carrying a box of these home today.
