TONIGHT: DGN Night at Bonaventure!

Recommended Posts

Questions:

What time? I can't read, it's quite an embarrasing problem for me seeing as I'm on a messageboard that is based on reading, but it is what it is. 8pm?

Do they rent roller blades or just roller skates? Very important 'cause roller blades are so badass 80's and 90's man, lemme tell ya.

Pest and I are looking at our funds, we're trying to go and we're going to try and bring along Punky, her boyfriend, and Cupcake if we can so y'all can meet them. Fun fun!

8pm. I understand you. I'm dyslexic, which is why I make fun of the shitty spellers here. If I have to work that hard at it, everyone else should, too.

They rent quads, blades, and speed skates. I think blade rental is $3, but don't quote me on that. I hope you can make it! It'll be a blast!!

OH....MY........GAWD!!! Out of curiosity I went to the International Dance Dance Revolution Machine Locator (there's 89 machines in Michigan, for the record) and found....

THEY HAVE DDR! EXTREME MIX TOO!

I don't even know if I'm going to skate now, I think I"m going to just bring an assload of quarters and hustle all night!

Kay, with that, we should be going. Dance Dance Revolution always controls me and decides my fate, Extreme is the best arcade mix for DDR out there, also.

I just have to settle this all with Pest and we should be good to go. Marc! BRING YOU CAMERA! I never got pictures done at the photoshoot so I want DDR badassery pictures!

Oh...and Eevee, tonight, on DDR you're getting SERVED, in which you will the serve me back...and from there...inevitably...IT'S ON! That's how it works, no other way around it.

Oh...SNAP! WTF! I forfeit, I know pre-emptively when I've been beat . I'll still go at it and have fun, it's what the game is about after all, aside from winning.

 hahaha, chances are, I'd fall on my ass halfway through a song, its been awhile since I've played XD

Kay kay, good :p. My handicap is that I can't pwn as hard on the arcade version as the home version, as I've been training on the home version for years and it does make a world of difference in translation. I also used to get nervous with strangers and other people watching me, you know, like stage fright basically, but I've pretty much gotten over that. I have techniques for blocking people out and focusing only on the arrows.

Last time I played the arcade version we were at Cedar Point and it was Supernova (the shittiest mix ), but I did very well to the point where there were tourists with cameras coming up and taking pictures saying that I was the shit.

Apparantly...people in Ohio have no DDR skills, or they would have known better .

Reminder: NO chains or spikes. Dress comfortably! I most likely will be in black sweatpants, but you won't miss my skate bling!!

One more question, since I'm full of them, it says "adult skate" does this mean if I bring someone who is, oh, 17 for instance they would be turned away? Like do they card or anything? Or do they just call it "adult skate" to put an emphasis that they don't want a bunch of screaming little 8 year olds running around knocking things over, annoying adults, and getting knocked over themselves?

'Cause if I bring new DGN members, Punky and Cupcake, they're both 17, so this is slightly pertinant to our evening.

I think they're pretty literal about that rule. Call them and ask. Tell them that you're coming with a large crowd, and that these two are almost 18. See what they say. It can't hurt.

Good thing I thought of it!

Edited to add: Kay, I called, and normally they say "no" to such things, but since they're just barely shy of 18 they would make an exception.

    • I am currently floored.   FedEx did a massive 6 box delivery to the wrong address.  I had an autoship order scheduled to arrive before this past weekend.  Nothing showed up.  I contacted the order site and they had a link for the order...a photo of all my boxes thrown in the snow and up the sidewalk of a residence that was not mine.   You would think that at some point, the driver would have looked at the delivery address after they kept throwing box upon box at this location with no shelter from the elements.  They didn't even knock on the door to inform the residents that massive 65+ pound boxes were left all over their walkway.  Nope.  Just dumped them, took a photo as they were walking away and left.   I wonder what the person who found all of those misdelivered boxes must have been thinking when they saw them.  Maybe they kept everything to use, distribute or sell.  No idea.  No claim was filed on that end as of yet.   Fortunately for me, one of the sites that I ordered from, replaced everything at no extra cost.   Unfortunately, now I'm concerned for the other items yet to be delivered.   Needless to say, I'll be watching my notifications like a hawk.
