Misheard Lyrics- Panzermensch

Thanks to ye olde request list, I have heard it without fail EVERY SINGLE WEEK for how many years now?

You can ONLY imagine how I feel.

I've wanted to write on the request sheet every week for the DJs to stop taking shitty requests from people, but I have a feeling my plan would fail. It's 'cause I feel sorry for both the DJs and the actual non-posers, but like I said, good tastes are definately outnumbered by preppy-girls in Hot Topic clothing now at CC...ah well. Punk has been dead for years, looks like gothic/industrial is beginning to follow suit...

Punk isn't dead yet...it did what it was originally supposed to do. Punk will never be pulled out of its hole again! If people can see you and know that you exist...you are doing it wrong...

Handy translation site

but could the actual lyrics really be better than "emo bear rights" and "fluff is aroused" ? The images of dust bunnies creeping over the foot of the bed with evil lust in their hearts is priceless.

No, the real lyrics are a buzz killer...Rock the Casbah is a great example of this...its one of the few political songs that isn't all bitchy about it like today...but everyone has a different set of words to go with the song which will never cease to bust my gut when I hear them...I mean some of these people are serious, they actually think that they know the real lyrics!

Well, enlighten us then, oh multi-linguistic master.

Well, enlighten us then, oh multi-linguistic master.

VERY crude, literal translation.

Tank Man

Your steps are beautiful - we dance seeing again

We look so strong - everyone dance as I

Like a legend weak legs stop - tank man continue the celebration

we are the energy - this strength never disappears

Computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go straightforward

computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go quickly

We fight for the triumphant advance - never enough tank men wars

wars are to dance there - our liberty is so close

Computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go straightforward

computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go quickly

Here are (always ready)

are ready (always ready)

are ready ready (always ready)

comes the tankman (machine)

(computer, machine)

Our bodies are so hot - flickering fire, proud sweat

lives this rhythm out - go straight ahead and go quickly

Computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go straightforward

computer, machine, tank man - go straightforward - go quickly

And Rock the Casbah...

Now the king told the boogie men

You have to let that raga drop

The oil down the desert way

Has been shakin to the top

The sheik he drove his cadillac

He went a cruisnin down the ville

The muezzin was a standing

On the radiator grille

Chorus

The shareef dont like it

Rockin the casbah

Rock the casbah

The shareef dont like it

Rockin the casbah

Rock the casbah

By order of the prophet

We ban that boogie sound

Degenerate the faithful

With that crazy casbah sound

But the bedouin they brought out

The electric camel drum

The local guitar picker

Got his guitar picking thumb

As soon as the shareef

Had cleared the square

They began to wail

Chorus

Now over at the temple

Oh! they really pack em in

The in crowd say its cool

To dig this chanting thing

But as the wind changed direction

The temple band took five

The crowd caught a wiff

Of that crazy casbah jive

Chorus

The king called up his jet fighters

He said you better earn your pay

Drop your bombs between the minarets

Down the casbah way

As soon as the shareef was

Chauffeured outta there

The jet pilots tuned to

The cockpit radio blare

As soon as the shareef was

Outta their hair

The jet pilots wailed

Chorus

He thinks its not kosher

Fundamentally he cant take it.

You know he really hates it.

See...no that hard...shit now the songs aren't as funny anymore...ah I still have Pearl Jam where even Eddie Vedder doesn't know what he is saying...

No idea...Internet Explorere cannot find it...

Using ie was your first mistake... :iluvff:

But computer translations are usually kinda made of lose anyway. Then again...I've only seen their results for things like Japanese (when my students would cheat and use them, etc). They may be better for languages that are more closely related to English.

They do not take into account many of the dialects...people used to use that in class all the time for German...but Latin was a different story

I love my IE....keeps me wondering what stupid problem will happen next
