Labyrinth Memories

Recommended Posts

'Course I'm always gonna be sentimental about my RUMBLE! nights there! Playing the Krewmen's Curse Of The Pharaohs while Koffin Kats' Vic did a drunken chimpanzee dance up on the stage and then started spinning about on the dancefloor like Curly Howard.

And the Demented Are Go show I put together there back in '04;still great memories of that night...

Far as I know, he was the only dj playing Jacquy Bitch. Let him use a drawing of mine to advertise the Detroit goth zine he was doing back then. What was the name...?

The fanzine was called Necro.

I spun with him...

you forgot me *pout*

Hey there! Whereabouts are you these days? I know Brian is out on the West Coast now.

I'd shed most of my "goth aesthetics" by that time but still loved what you and Brian played when I was bartending.

Oddly enough, I am also in the west coast.

I am missing Detroit so I thought I'd spend some time on DGN.

Lee from Ascension UK is also here.

Seems half of Detroit's goth ('specially those connected with Carpe Mortem) community moved out West;though, Cal's down in FL now, isn't he?

Yep Cal is in FL coordinating fight scenes, last I heard.

I think all the original members of Carpe Mortem are in CA except for Tim. We were the last ones left in MI. I'm still the only one not in LA, though. :)

I remember the Lab for Modification Wednesdays, NYE BDSM and the only flesh pull on broken glass that has ever happened.

Chaos tried to make a go at a Wednesday night flesh pull and suspension night. The DJ played mix tapes. I remember it was Feb 2008 or so when I got to work the decks once in that place thanks to Rouge's little accident and her boyfriend being the DJ. I remember it well because I had just recently gotten an undercut, my first really drastic alternative haircut.

January 19, 2008 was an IGUN night at the Lab. Biohazard and I flesh pulled that night. At the time, flesh pulls were becoming way too common. Nizzle (who was there and one of the piercers), Biohazard and Maestro had pretty much pierced, pulled and hung everyone and their cousin in Wayne County that wanted to be pierced, pulled or hung for every audience that wanted to see someone pierced, pulled or hung. So, since both of us were glass walkers, I suggested to pull on broken glass. Since the night was dead save for a few friends and two very good photographers, only I went ahead with the pull on glass. It was the my intense flesh pull ever.

January 1, 2008 was also a fun night. Chaos opened up the entire building and gave DJ Darks Choir the run of the Lab. Somehow he and I connected to arrange for me to do BDSM stuff on stage. Hot wax, living doll, shibari, asphyxiation play, greet and beat... you know. I met a very good acquaintance there. She saw me performing fire and ice (actually hot wax and ice) on my submissive assistant (who was at one point a volunteer) and then jumped up on stage and laid down next to her. So, my assistant and I changed gears to fire and ice this hot retired Marine girl who took it like a Marine would. I believe that's the first time I met Johnny from Johnny's Urban Jungle because I needed ice for the stage show.

Oh and there was X-Ball I and night parties for Exotica. Very good being very bad times.

If you didn't see it elsewhere on DGN, the Labyrinth is re-opening this Sunday; it'll be part of the Leland's DEMF activities. Will it stay open? I'm not the one to ask.

Holy hell!

I can't see how they got that black mold mess cleaned up without a truckload of money. (Not that I want the lab to stay closed, but that stuff is a major health hazard). I hope someone used a lot of bleach.
