I used to think, I will try to buy all American...but...it’s impossible.

One, most of the time they just don't have an American model or...its more costly or...does not work as well...

Yes I go to the dollar store even though most of it comes from over seas

why? I need to save as much as possible, NOW

Usually buy my clothing used. like 90%. I will sew some things...

I bought ONE new item this year, one.

You know what? I washed it twice and it RIPPED!!!

My mother still has her original electric can opener. I struggle with the hand held after going through 4 of those damn electric ones only to have them break right after the warranty runs out!

I had a Karaoke machine do the same damn thing. I swear there is a timer in there that makes things break after the warranty expires. It broke I shit you not, 1 1/2 weeks after the warranty expired.

The part that was broke...he said it wouldn't be worth it to go through all that...having it shipped and put in I might as well buy a new one...this thing only lasted 3 yrs.

My mother still has her original stove, all eyes work...mine has one eye out.

It is only 10 yrs old.

We talked about this and she noticed it too...you spend 10x as much, make less than dad did...and things don't last as long...we have no benefits like he did (at GM) either...or retirement pensions.

Now that I can't use the can opener so good this really pisses me off...I WILL NOT BUY A NEW ELECTRIC ONE! I will NOT GIVE IN!

Oh and lets not forget dad got a job without having to shell out a ton of cash for EXTRA schooling, like we have to do...even after going for all those years. This system sucks.

Our largest bill is the health insurance we have to pay for cause when I got sick I WAS CANCELLED on the one we could afford.
