Who's going to CombiChrist...?

Shit...when is it? I need to see this for my music class!

Thursday, two days from now, tickets are $15. They're playing at either the Magic Stick or the Majestic, always get them mixed up because they sound exactly the same when spoken aloud, and are right next to each other. Doors are at 9, I believe.

Does anyone want a wristband for the Westland meet and greet autograph thing? I won't make it. I have better things to do. And I've already met Andy. And I already have my question answered that I was going to ask him in the first place. But I digress. I will be at Wasteland Mall working until around 4 p.m.

So WHO WANTS A WRISTBAND??

For picking Black Light Burns as their opener I would like to say to Anthony Lepeglia "Hey you,

WTF is wrong with you?" --I mean really?!! A bad metal band whose lead singer was the guitarist for Limp Bizkit???

They SUCKED!

But Combichrist was great!

The set was a little short (75 minutes) but they ripped through all the hits and kept me dancing.

And I got to meet Punky and see Chernobyl and Pest which was a bonus.

All in all, a good evening

They have some badass acoustics for being the place it is. I've never been to the Majestic before, turned out to be a great venue.

Opening bands...uhmm...SAY NO TO THE CROW MAKEUP, that is all. The second band, Black Light Burns, was kinda meh at best, and they were near full-on metal, which I wasn't in the mood for, I came for some ebm/industrial, so I got impatient waiting for CombiChrist to come on, and when they did it was well worth the wait.

Saw Bean and The Eternal! I had to look for you guys, but I found you eventually . Also ran into Mean Salley, was a pleasant surprise because I didn't know he was coming to the concert.

I can't hear myself think, that's how loud it was because I was right next to the speaker...AMAZING.

I didn't think Black Light Burns were bad at all! I admit that I had preconceived notions at first...not helped by dude's silly face make-up, but after making fun of the lyrics of the first song I heard (I can't remember, but they were just not that great), they really started to grow on me. They did good covers of "Lucretia My Reflection" and "So Alive" and their energy/personality was quite admirable.

Oh lord. The eternal was so pissed because of the covers of "Lucretia My Reflection" and "So Alive" he wanted to leave.

To me it seemed like forever before Combichrist came on but in the end well worth the wait. The DJ put out a good set inbetween shows. The beer selection and prices helped me make it thru the night. Location was not that bad, sorta small but easy to manuever place. No wait for bathroom, well at least for the mens. And my ability to walk wherever I wanted during the night was also a plus. Could go get a refill and easily reclaim my spot if you will.

As for the first two bands I did not think they were that bad just not on the same music style as Combichrist's industrial more of a metal show that sorta caught me off guard and in my opinion did not fit in. I had to laugh as the one group demanded a mosh pit and only about ten of us went in and it quickly faded after the one song.

As for the Majestic overall, parking was good only $4 for you had many places to stay out of the cold till you could get in the front door or grab a bite to eat for many pubs are real close. I think I would for sure go again to this club for another event. Exspecially for $4 dollar Guinesses all night. But most of all thanks to my fellow concert goers who helped make the event a good one. No real extreme rowdiness that I saw so all could relax and not have to worry about a boot to the head from a crowd surfer.

Yeah, I was mad at first, too, but again I think it was more due to my own personal pre-programming than anything genuinely anger-inducing. During "Lucretia My Reflection," I turned to my friend and said "Oh my god! They can't cover THIS!!" and he just looked at me and said "Oh come on, they're having fun!" And then I realized...they were. And they weren't doing a bad cover. So I decided to have fun, too. So then "So Alive" happened, and I was appreciative of that, too.

I think maybe I'm growing up or something.

That was my first time at the Majestic. I thought it was a sweet show. I had never heard of the first band, but they were all right, nice guys. I already knew Black Light Burns and had been waiting to see them. Then of course what most people were there to see: Combichrist. They kicked ass. It was my first ebm show and I liked it. I did not see too many DGNers for some reason....I probably ended up running into some and not realizing it. I had a good time though!

Sacriledge! CombiChrist is SO not industrial! EBM would be the correct term, or maybe a nice cocktail of EBM with a splash of industrialness...

But, nice to know you enjoyed it, I had a badass time myself.
