jynxxxedangel
What small, simple things have you done today-- that made someone feel loved, showed care for the well-being of another living creature, and/or made the world a better place? Just a moment ago, I was mindful to cut up a plastic six-pack holder; so that when it goes to the dump, some poor dumb animal won't choke or strangle upon it. Silly, perhaps..but it's just something I have always done, ever since I saw a seagull struggling pitifully with one wrapped about its throat. Now, this is very important, and it is something everyone should do. Every day, I tell my closest friends I love them. If they are not present, or incommunicado, I whisper it to the wind-- in hopes it will get back to them.
taysteewonderbunny
I was able to tell my best friend and my mother that I love them today. Don't want to miss an opportunity. I also got up early to wash all the dishes before my mom woke up so that she wouldn't have to touch them this morning.
jynxxxedangel
I transferred some feeder crickets into a nice, pet-like enclosure. Two fellers, and a lady crickie. The males have been filling the house with their music, and I find it to be comforting. They even sing along merrily when I have tunes playing, or when I myself am singing. Yes, I've gone soft in the head. I need to buy some more spider food, now. *rolls eyes*

Enishi
I avoid stepping on ant hills when walking down the side walk. It takes a lot of work for them to build those things. Now I just need to work on quelling my urge to massacre every wasp nest I find...

pomba gira
I always say "Thank you" and "Have a blessed day" to service people (cashiers, receptionists, etc). Seems pretty basic to me but so often they seem surprised to be acknowledged like that. And I try to compliment people whenever possible... let coworkers know when I think they've done a good job... little things like that. Once I made my 2nd hubby move a dead squirrel out of the road so the crows could feast undisturbed... I must admit tho, that was equal parts altruism and desire to get on the Crow Tribe's good side
candyman
Today I actually obeyed the 30 foot rule when I smoked outside...yet those "better than thou" bastards still gave me shit. I can't seem to please people...
jynxxxedangel
Every time I see any sort of container to put money in for a worthwhile charity, I give as much as I can. I may not have much, but there are others who have less.

ManicQueen
I received a card today that made me feel loved and that I don't have to go through life alone no more. I try to do something good everyday such as taking my roomie to work or making coffee at a meeting. It's the little things we do that can make a huge difference in someone's day and that's what matters.
Brenda Starrr
I have my own volunteer organization, as some of you know. I send donations to Gilchrest Hospice in my Dad's name. That's where he passed...*sigh* They only take what Medicare pays, as well as donations. I helped clean the new area to become the community garden on Second & Willis. I have never done yardwork a day in my life before this. This wasn't just yard work. It was more like prison work. I cut down branches and vines for 2 hours straight. Curl Up & Dye and the DDG have purchased plots for it! Some of my organization and I will be doing work with Project Playground. I hope to do more to beautify our city! I walk for Autism and the MI Humane Society. I plan to walk for Alzheimer's as well. We have a year-round canned food drive for St. Patrick's in Detroit. If anyone would care to donate, there's a thread in General Promo. I plan to be a hugger for the Special Olympics.
Slogo
I just try to be nice to people. I know that I've failed sometimes (Esp. recently) but really, being nice is all I have to give and I do my best with it.

jynxxxedangel
I'm well known for saving earthworms from mud puddles and rain gutters, and moving them by the hand full to higher ground. Just ask my husband. I also brake (taking into regard the other motorists, of course) for animals, even stupid ones, like squirrels, Canadian geese, and robins during mating season (I've narrowly missed quite a few birds, this week). Guest Megalicious
I bought a homeless guy lunch. There is always the same guy on the off ramp. I stopped and asked him what he wanted ... and then dropped it back off to him. He was not only grateful for food, but grateful that I had the decency to STOP and ASK WHAT HE WANTED. ...
