Aftermath - DGN Night Feb. 7th

I had a good time. Mixed time, I should say. I was feeling so sick..I really probably should have stayed home. But I wanted to go out, and Friday wasn't bad at all. But it was so crowded on Saturday, and like everyone is saying, the wrong type of people. Where do they all come from??? Where do they find out about City and why do they decide to descend upon us like locusts??? (Was this caused by the Mephistos DJ? Is this what the Mephistos crowd was ever like? I never made it out there so I don't know...I don't mean to accuse, I'm just curious.)

Oh well. I was feeling suffocated from too many people and suffocated from too much clothing - I love that outfit but it's a bad idea when sick...must remember, next time, no corset and hat when sick. I couldn't talk much because my voice was going and throat was hurting, and couldn't dance because of too many people, but... yeah. I decided to drink in hopes that it would make me not feel the pain as much, and it worked really really well, actually, so after I had a couple Purple Rains I was having a very good time. Not drunk, just kinda floaty, on too much ibuprofen and everything. Still, the only people who asked me if I had been drinking, if I was drunk, asked before I'd had any alcohol - I was acting more drunk from the sick than from the actual alcohol I did have later!! hahaha

I did see a lot of people who I hadn't seen in a long time, which was nice, but a lot of the regulars were missing. It was kinda an odd night. I felt like it was off the whole night, but I thought it was just me because I was sick as a dog, but I guess it was the actual crowd. Still, I got to dance a bit near the end when it was still crowded but there was a little bit of space. That was really nice.

Still, this makes it 3 Saturdays in a row that were pretty bad with tourists, doesn't it? (I wasn't there 3 weeks ago but I heard stories.) What's up with that lately? I know City needs the money but eww. Where are they coming from?

ya'll don't consider me a "tourist" do you?

Tourist means "normal" people... or more accurately, people who normally wouldn't come to City Club but do so out of curiosity (Not such a bad thing) or to be like the people mentioned above - which is to say, assholes, and douchebags... just there to make trouble, try to get laid by the "easy" goth chicks/boys... etc...

That would not be you.

For the past few years I've noticed that for a few months after the new year there is a "douchewave." This year seems particularly awful. I'm hoping that they start going away.

I'm sorry so many people had a shitty time.

I have perfected my "fuck off" glare, so when I go to CC by myself, I'm usually left alone.

Eternal wanted to add that maybe now would be a good time for "Leland City Club" to log on and

actually address these concerns.

OMG!!! LFAO "Douchewave"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

And yes, I would be interested in what they have to say. I'm afraid it's the "all money is green" mentality though.

These guys aren't turned off by mere bitchiness. They seem to be quite aggressive. They will follow you around the dancefoor and dance up against you.

I'll admit that I can be pretty passive. I usually just try to walk away from these guys. I don't complain to the Security staff like I should. I guess it's my own fault that I allow idiots to ruin my night at times.

and people wonder why i look so pissed off.. its kind of my way to keep the assholes away from me..and if they bother me i tell them to back off or something of that nature and then walk away.. if they follow i just keep on walking..

also one of the reason i like wearing my stompy boots of doom is they see how tall i am and it makes them think twice about messing with me.. but yes it doesn't work alll the time..

but then again this happens in any bar you go to..so just do what you gotta do.. and fuck the stupid tourist ..lol

Yeah, unfortunately you have to be aggressive right back towards these people for them to get the point...

All I have to say is if this shit keeps up till my birthday and someone tries shit with me that night, can someone make sure I don't get into a fist fight? Or at least not one with a guy, because it's been known to happen.

Few years back I was at a Joker party with my sister and her late husband and some guy that was just a club hang around grabbed me and I punched him out, it took two bikers to get me off of him.

cobwebs....

I had a great time, but for whatever reason, it almost felt like my night was cut short....halfway through sunday, I had almost forgotten that I actually did make it to the dancefloor before the end of the night. and I only remember half the people I saw....funny since I didn't have that many drinks in me...ahh well XD

I say us ladies of DGN need to stick together and watch out for each other. I'm not about to surrender CC. They are many, but so are we.

THIS! Screw them! I just ignore them. They barely enter my radar. The only time they bug me is when I can't find dancing space. If they get 'all up ons' a friend should help get them away. This doesn't, of course, help the situation of being barfed on, but that's....less than an every time occurrence. Sucks royally though...Really. But for normal tourists, just ignore them. Just keep coming out to have a good time!

I dunno, I couldn't boycott City, I still love it too much. But whenever I've had a problem Mick's been there to help me out, so I haven't really seen any of this bouncer negligence in action. I don't not believe it, not with some of them for sure, but I haven't witnessed it, so I can't say anything.

I showed up, since I was already at the Leland anyway. I was worn out from working The Dirty Show Friday night and doing the DEAC all day Saturday, so I was less than enthusiastic, but I looked great :wink . I saw a few nice people (all of you DGNers I spoke to) and got some hugs. I even danced with Fin, even though I swore I wasn't going to dance because my legs were so tired and I had another full day of photo shoots on Sunday. No douchebags bothered me, but I think most are intimidated by me. Mostly I got compliments on my dress (even from the touristy types). I was way too intimidating to get bothered with, benefits of being an Ice Queen =P
