When will we get out of debt?

Recommended Posts

The Global Poverty Act was a bill in the U.S. Congress. The bill was co-sponsored by 84 representatives and 30 senators.

The Global Poverty Act would require the U.S. President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day. This would require the United States to increase its overall spending on Humanitarian Aid from 23 billion to 98 billion a year. This bill has been surrounded by some controversy because it also has stipulations that could infringe on the Constitution of the United States.

The bill passed the Foreign Affairs Committee in July.

Yeah...so now we are the UN bitch that can be milked for money to do something that we have tried to do before with, well, lacking results. And we all know for a fact that when something needs to be done that the UN will do it...eventually...maybe...but they will probably just write a letter hoping that will help.

Does this frighten anyone else? Look up the United Nations Millennium Development Goal...and ponder this: The road to hell is often paved with good intentions...

Yeah we do...but all we need to do is force them to mobilize their military might for two days and they are toast...

I'm thinking we can't afford to start another war and...where would we get the money from?

Oh I know - we'll ask China to give us money so we can invade their country. lmao!!!!

I mean - they shouldn't mind right? We'll just tell them that after we're done we'll rebuild their nation with their money that they gave us to invade them.

Makes perfect sense.

We won't get out of debt until we abolish the Federal Reserve. I've gone on countless rants about this elsewhere on DGN, but it's really important that each and every citizen of this country understand how our banking system "works". Check out the late Aaron Russo's film America: Freedom to Fascism for a full and eye-opening explanation of where the national debt comes from and how it gets paid. SO much becomes clear once you understand this. It's not at all complicated, so I'm begging you: watch this film or research it yourself independently. And then tell everyone you know. We will continue to see our economy implode until We the People demand action.

Makes perfect sense.

South Korea is more frightened of North Korea than they are of China...and they owe money to China too...big groups of people in uniforms marching in a square mean jack shit when it comes to all out war...

However the point is not really our debt so to speak...its the fact that Obama and yes Bush too, along with many other politicians, have signed us up to save the world by throwing money at it. Like, to the tune of a few billion per year. How does this make sense at all? Has money ever helped poverty, hunger, small arms control, disease, etc...? No, we have been doing it for a while at it has not worked.

Now we have to UN controlling our money. Great, an organization that takes two weeks to decide how to tie their shoes properly and can put an army of thousands into a torn country within minutes yet manages to make them nothing more than men wearing blue hats doing fuck-all to help out...is in control of out money.

So, my question here is two parts: First, has anyone, here or those in charge, read these documents? Second, how...how in the hell is sending more people with red crosses, land rovers, trash bags full of money, and cases with vials full of "magical juice" and band-aids going to fix anything when history shows that...well, it fixes nothing?

Yes, I want to help these people. However, none of this has helped at all...ever. We are signing up for new shit that won't help anyone while our own country is sliding down hill. No, at this point it is not selfish at all to help ourselves and let the rest of the world alone. Why? Because, like it or not, we, the United States of America, can help people if we put our minds to it...but we can't if we are not around.

I can't really take comfort knowing that my taxes are going to send food, medicine, water, and other shit to some warlord in a 3rd world country so that he can use them for himself and let the rest of the country to rot...

Thanks for bringing that to my attention - I will learn up on it.

A little off topic here (but not by much) I watched the movie Sicko (by Michael Moore) and after seeing how other countries take care of their citizens (yea yea - through socialized medicine - no different then that socialized education you got so you can read this) - but my point is (and this is where it ties into our debt) we, as a nation, need to look at other countries and see how they do certain things.

Other governments (like the French/Germany/England/Canada) are getting things right by doing things differently and we are obviously lacking - so I'm thinking - since how we do things here is NOT (has not been working well) maybe it's time to change how we do things here.

Michael Moore makes me sick...the dude needs meds

There are multiple things that are also wrong with those countries. We will never be perfect, we can change things, but do you mean change as in a complete turn around? Or do you mean change as in work with what we have and improve it?

France is rampant with racism. Germany has insanely tight borders. England is controling its people like sheep...they are safe sure...but oddly enough V for Vendetta, though just a movie, is looking more and more realistic every day. I know alot of "punks" over there that inform me of their situations and it seems like they have tossed out the people voting altogether. I want to feel safe...but I want to live my own life. Canada...umm...go fishing up there with your uncle that lives in Alberta, have him break his ankle on a slippery rock, and then try to get into a hospital. Cheap medial aid is great...the only problem is that alot of this medical aid...well it can't wait around for its turn at the office.

I am not sure what kind of change people are looking for. Yes things aren't looking pretty right now but...its been worse and we and many other countries have gotten through this shit before. We can improve too...which is often cheaper, takes less time, and also works.

If you'd watch the movie or just cross the boarder and ask any Canadian how thier health system is they will tell you

it's better than what those Americans have.

Well aside from you opinion on Mr. Moore (which has nothing to do with my point - just telling ya where I got some info from) let's see where do I begin..............?

First I'd like to ask you your age (just curious really)

Secondly, your comment about

France is rampant with racism
- have you visited any southern states since our civil war? Have ya heard of the KKK? (just curious)

Have you heard about that fence that's going up at our Mexican boarder? (because you mentioned Germany's insanely tight borders).

And now on to England -

England is controling its people like sheep
--- how long have you lived here because my friend - our government does the same damn thing.

So how are those countries worse than ours?

Seems you're showing some of your own prejiduces about places and people - you haven't met or visited.

That last bit is just how you come across to me.

I do go to Canada alot...and yes they do like cheap...but many also complain about what cheap health care has cost them in other areas

20...

Yes I tend to travel alot. I also study deeply into racism and find many flaws...while the KKK, the Peckerwoods, and The Aryan Brotherhood still exist their numbers have fallen alot since their last investigation...not to mention that the Ayan Brotherhood has had a truce with the Mexican Mafia since the 80's because they are horrified at what their youger Protégés have done. If you want to talk about racism and gang violence the tables have turned...well they turned in the late 80's and now its the minority groups leading the way...but I guess its too racist to point out flaws, no matter how bad, if the group isn't white.

The fence at the Mexican border doesn't have shit on Germany...it's not just their borders...it their policies...while they aren't racist they are very firm, and for good reason

And now on to England - --- how long have you lived here because my friend - our government does the same damn thing.

Our government is set up very differently so they do not do the same thing. My state voted down a smoking ban...England didn't even have a vote...like no vote at all as far as the common people are concerned. Also, while some states have fines for public attire, England has a history or strict punishment for certain dress types and as far as music goes...you can get your ass booted for poking a little fun at your leaders.

So how are those countries worse than ours?

Never said they were...but they are different...some things work here, and some things work there...but they don't always cross over. Since when did our country get so bad? Is it just like cigarettes where the suddenly started killing people all of the sudden? Yeah we have problems...so do other countries...we also do some good things...so do other countries. We are not Germany...or France...or any other country. We have existed for a while and if things now are really that bad it seems illogical to think that they could have worked this long having the same problems before as we do now...

Seems you're showing some of your own prejiduces about places and people - you haven't met or visited.

So...being 20 I can't have visited Grenada, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Czeck Republic, Germany, Britain, Canada, or Mexico? Also, they still teach history and that along with my travels and other studies puts me at least in the 8th grade right? No I have not visited all 50 states yet but I have the south and the midwest covered along with much of the east coast...so that must put me in at least the 5th grade as far as US history...

That last bit is just how you come across to me.
