I do this as well,and I know a few others as well that do it,they have never and will not allow their friends to ever meet their family(parents,siblings,grandparent)in fear that if they ever became enemies with any of their friends that they might try to get their family to turn against them and such.one of my buddies considers himself the" controler" of his family and will not never let them meet any of his family.

because he did not want them to try to get his family into turning against him,blowing him,since he considers his family his only means to respect.I see nothing wrong with this issue.

Well to me that isn't a real friend cause my friends know my ssn number my parents where i live who i live with where i work the list continues to me it is a way of having a backup plan cause if something goes wrong there always there for me. Wish I could sympathize for you but sorry try to be more lenient a little and things will fall into place more so for yourself then others.

I have to agree... and not much of a family, either... hard for me to imagine family members being "turned against" one of their own by some outsider. In my family that just couldn't happen. But as I've often said... the more I see of other families, the more deeply I appreciate my own.

If I know and trust someone well enough to call him or her a "friend" then I would know that he or she has enough moral character to understand that even if he or she has a falling out with me, that falling out would stay between the two of us. Anyone who drags innocent parties into a personal squabble, and does anything that might physically or emotionally hurt those innocent parties, is mentally underdeveloped and unstable. Not the type of person I would ever consider entering into a friendship with.
