As with most movie stuff, you don't get the full effect with crap speakers or low volume.

Original Teaser

Notice how they lied to us about the original release date. :cry

Full Trailer (eeks!)

Notice McCoy, Scotty and Sulu are all there, just have to watch close to figure out who is who.

Beautiful.

Actually gives this jaded old girl goosebumps. ;)

I'm going (when I see it for the first time) in the afternoon when it's not too crowded and going absolutely alone so there is no possibility of anyone trying to comment to me or interrupting the movie.

As an old member of Starfleet, and regional science coordinator for the midwest, and as much as I love old school trek, I will be wanting to see this opening day, as I did with the last three of the original cast movies.

Yes, I know, I am a geek. Come on, I was the rank of Captain when 'Fleet disbanded in the late 90's

Sure? Something about going to what probably ranks as one of the biggest uber-geek fests possible, packed room full of "real" star trek fans and the excitement in the room is palatable. The way they have the seating and the sound cranked up these days at modern theaters unless the people are being REALLY obxonsious its often hard to notice them. If someone was causing any real trouble at an early showing of this thing, I think there would be a nerd-smack-down-pile on. I know I'd tell them to shut the fuck up (really would, I've done it before heh)

Now that there is a good man.

...and in IMAX, people!!!!!!!!!!!!

I very seldom go to the theatre, but I will certainly make an exception, to see this film!

May 8th is the release date.

Yeah I tend to just wait for the DVDs or whatever. But that plan there is goods.

The second trailer is new. I just posted the first one for completion sake. Theoretically the movie should already be out if the old topic was accurate. (was supposed to come out for Xmas 2008) Since then a lot more detail (and new trailers) have been released.

There is some weird idea that topics on forums are always about "new" stuff and the same subject cant be discussed twice. ADD anyone? lol. DGN is (at least partly) a discussion forum, which could be about anything from any time period. "We already talked about the bible... not new... "

But, the only trailer that is old is that first one. The second one, along with many similar ones are new , to DGN at least. A lot of the details that are available now were not even available at that time.

YEAH! Stick it to 'em!

Jeez, without people like you this board would be divided...but then again we could have a Neutral Zone and people could choose between The Federation, the Klingons, and the Romulans...but I choose the Crystalline Entity...

Oh...no...no no no...that is too much power for one person to claim and handle! Even mods do not have that kind of power...

I do suggest being a Trill though...collecting knowledge, living a long time, control...the downsides are constantly cold hands and the large fear of insect bites...

This one has a lot of new footage, it is considered the "final" trailer with as much detail that is going to be put into a trailer until the film launches:

Star Trek Final Trailer - Watch more Movie Trailers

Yet another one that begs for good sound. Noticing a pattern? heh.

The film itself and movies in general: More than any other type of "effects" scene, I think space battles (which also usually subtract 100 get laid points from a date) beg for good screening / sound. Luckily this is another one that Hollywood has seen fit to film with the (pain in the balls, or so I hear) IMAX cameras.
