The American Form of Government

Recommended Posts

I know there is an existing thread or two I could post this in, but I'm too lazy to dig one up so I'll just start a new one. The following video was part of a newsletter I got today and I found it pretty interesting. Some stuff I already knew, some stuff was new to me. But, I found it interesting and figured some of you might to. Plus, being DGN, I'm sure it's bound to start a heated argument debate.

Oligarchy (Greek Ὀλιγαρχία, Oligarkhía) is a form of government where power effectively rests with a small elite segment of society distinguished by royalty, wealth, family, military influence

There are times when I feel we already have this form of government running America.

It happened with the Romans; from Republic to Oligarchy through complacency and I can definitely see it happening in America if it hasn't really already.

If history has/will teach us anything it's that if we aren't careful it will repeat its self. It also shows us that there is nothing worse than a total revolt against tyranny governments by the angry people (anyone remember Mussolini?).

It's my belief that there's a group of people here in our country that want to turn us into an Oligarchy nation that they will have total control over and they are getting there, too many American's are either complacent or too 'busy' too take notice and action against this happening.

It's not a conspiracy theory because I think there is much evidence to support my claims.

It is a sad time for true freedom and the last administration did nothing to help freedom but instead they did the oppisite. They took away freedoms and trampled on the rights of Americans in the name of 'freedom' and 'justice'.

But it was Ben Franklin that said

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
. Hmmmmm....reminds me of the last administration for some odd reason.

It's something to think about for sure.

There is a growing number of people who are very close to a Revolution so that we can restore the government to it's rightfull place, that is, a servant to the people...

Most of them would get rather upset if you called them Liberal or Democrats.

An argument is just one side of a debate. I think you mean fight or quarrel (in the speech only sense).
