The "Stupid things people do" Thread

Recommended Posts

I think this would fall under Sociology.

I don't know - maybe I just need a place to vent! Maybe I just hate people! Maybe I just hate stupid people!

So my wife and I go to grab some food to complete the ingredient's for my house famous Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Two items is all we needed - Alfredo Sauce and Chicken. So we get these two items and head to the check out lanes - every lane had at least 4 people in line and all of them had full shopping carts so... of course we head to the express lane - there where more people in line there but of course they all had just a few items .... of course right? So Kitty and I get in line and a kid with one Monster Drink fell in behind us... that's it - one Monster Drink. So... I look at the lady in front of us and what the hell - a full shopping cart! I look up and make sure we were in the express lane and sure enough it said "Express Lane - 15 items or less"..... 15 ITEMS OR LESS!!!!! I look back down at the lady and take inventory of whats in her cart... sure enough - a full cart so I look back up at the sign - EXPRESS LANE - 15 ITEMS OR LESS! I look at what I have and the kid behind us - Alfredo Sauce, Chicken and one Monster Drink. I look at the sign again - EXPRESS LANE - 15!!!! ITEMS OR LEEEEESSSSSS!!! So I start to think - Kitty and I with our Alfredo Sauce and Chicken and the Kid behind us with his ONE Monster Drink could actually be walking out the door by now if it wasn't for this bitch in the EXPRESS LANE - 15 ITEMS OR LESS so I start to say shit.

"Gee - I'm glad there are rules"

"Man, I'm sure glad everyone follows rules"

"Aren't we in the EXPRESS - 15 ITEMS OR LESS LANE???"

"I sure am glad everyone in this lane has 15 ITEMS OR LESS!!"

All the while, Kitty is smiling, turning red and saying "sshhh"!

I know this bitch heard me... I know she did... I know the kid ringing everything up did too cause he started to hang his head low cause he should have told her to go to another lane - this is the EXPRESS LANE - 15 ITEMS OR LESS!

She just had this extremely stupid snagged tooth look on her face..... like..... DING fries are done! So, I just sigh and except this human world of stupidity and then - as I think everything is about to be done and I can have my Alfredo Sauce and Chicken rung up and the kid behind us can pay for his ONE Monster Drink.... the bitch pulls out a check book and writes a check.

Just be thankful she didn't pull out a change purse, and start counting...that's just as bad.

Another pet peeve in the grocery store, is people who will just stand in the aisle, with their carts out in the middle, so you can't pass--and totally ignore you, when asked nicely to move it..then, they get IRATE when you move it YOURSELF.

Now in the past, I have taken all four of my children to the (well, any and all) store. My children stayed by my side and knew I would beat the hell out of them (well...a good swat on the butt and an "I'm SO disappointed in your behavior" talk) if they misbehaved. I didn't have any other choice but to bring them. So MY biggest pet peeve is when people bring their sniveling whining screaming poopy drawer snotty nose knock everything off the shelf spoiled and badly behaved BRATS. I know what it is like to have no other choice than to bring your children to the store, but my god people...make your kids behave!

This applies to all public places. I have, more than once, stopped what I was doing (shopping, eating) and just walked out the door.

Oh, and I also just LOVE it when the whole freakin family, cousins, aunts & uncle's, and Grandma's included go shopping together...all surrounding ONE cart...and once I witnessed an isle long cart train and a family reunion.

Also...gotta love those Mad Max drivers in those motorized cart thingies. (sorry, I said thingies)

Grocery stores...

You don't even know. Come to South West Florida. Go to any grocery during the mid morning.

So every Thursday morning, promptly at 10:30am, I take my wife's Grand Mother (96) grocery shopping. She's mostly blind and deaf. She acts as though she is royalty and occasionally says things like "Smoking pot will my your titties grow like a womans." That is the fun part.

The unfun part is every other 96 year old in the county is also out to get grocerys. Shuffling mindless and slack jawed down the aisle.

If you really want to know what it's like to be in a zombie invasion, come shopping with me. The really bad ones drive the "thingys". They will hurt you.

"Young man, where are the eggs? Did they move them?"

"Darlin, they are right behind you."

the things I have seen.

two things about your post made me giggle in delight:

1. you said "thingys"

and

2. you said, "Darlin"

...one day I will get my revenge. I will one day run people over in one of those motorized shopping cart thingies too!

I'll specifically look for the family reunion isle with all the carts and put the pedal to the metal. **snarky snarky**

Right after I had my foot surgury I was a walmart with my parents and went to get one of the motorized carts since I couldn't walk for 6 weeks at least. This old lady started bitching on how I was young and shouldn't be able to use one of those carts. I calmly tried to explain to the woman that I had surgury only 4 days before hand and wasn't able to walk and couldn't crutch around the store. She didn't give a shit and actually went to get managment. They ended up grabbing an old wheel chair out of storage just so I could do the shopping I needed to get done, and gave the old hag the cart.

Peoples' driving habits are what get to me. I get them all the time cutting me off to get off the highway when there was no one behind me. I also can't stand having to go around on the right because someone is driving on the left or middle lanes and doesn't have the courtesy to keep right as the law says. I go to Texas every week and down there from just north of Austin to San Antonio, they have a truck restriction that says trucks are not allowed in the left lane. So a lot of times both truck drivers and 4 wheelers stay in the middle lane, so if I need to get around someone, I have to do it in the right lane where I chance some traffic coming on the highway from the on-ramps. More often than not, I see morons driving than people with common sense. Do you have to buy common sense these days? Because I know a lot of people are hurting for money these days.

People who write checks. Get with it already.

People who write checks. Get with it already.

Many of the stores now have it where they just take your heck and run it through a machine and it rints everything out lickity split. All a person has to do is sign. The stores that do not have this technology...they need to get with it too! I hate standing behind someone who is writing out a check. You know, if I need to write a check I have everything filled out before my items are even done being accounted for and added up. Time people! Time is precious! Yours AND the people behind you!

But...I don't do checks anymore.

I love that commercial where all the people are shopping or getting lunch and they use their debit cards (or whatever...credit too? I don't know) and they are all moving around like a well oiled machine....and then BAM! that one person brings everything to a crashing halt when they whip out a pocket full of cash.

However, I do not condone or support the total plastic life style. A pocket full of cash is OK with me.

I'm snarky enough to appreciate the people counting out their coins.

I have an evil side....

--------

I obviously cannot spell or type before I've finished my first cup of Joe...sorries.

I hate when people try to book entertainers, before they have all the money for the deposit.

JEEZUS, pass the hat BEFORE the day of the event, for feck's sake!

oy! Don't even get me started on THIS topic! I can't rant and rave from both sides of that situation!
