Douchebaggery + NECTO = Fail

How do the oversized jerseys and lack of belts make you feel?

More than slightly repulsed. I mean, show some sense of thought. Like someone needs to look like a five-year old in Big Brother's clothing. And I really don't need to see if their boxers are clean or not from the pants falling off the hips.

It is like they raided Big Brother's closet while he is away at college and tried on some of his clothes, thinking they are cool. *ughs*

When in actuality, it was the actions Big Brother did while in those clothes that were cool.

But then, that is my feeling and opinion. I have been wrong before.

You are confusing me. Big Brother or big brother? Only one is admirable.

Idk about necto but someone told me they had been advertising city on the radio lately

Posted for Truth:

Leland CITY CLUB is NOT and has NOT been advertising on the radio .

We do have some cool Friends, like Void6 and others,

who mention us on their radio shows from time to time.

And we THANK them very much.

We have also had Friends call into radio shows on their own to

remind people that WE are OPEN till 4:30am Every weekend.

And we THANK them very much.

Leland CITY CLUB has NO PLANS to advertise on the radio .

Rumors are not truth .

Went to Necto last night to celebrate birthdays and see friends I haven't seen in a while. It seems City Club is not alone in gaining a douchebag element. There were a bunch of guys on the dance floor doing nothing more then looking for female victims to rub against and harass. There were also a bunch of idiots with glowsticks who were deader then roadkill in energy level yet they still insisted on hogging dance floor space. Dudes.. learn to use them before you show up and take a nap if you're gonna act like your asleep on the floor.

It's getting to the point where I just don't want to go to the clubs any more if I have to deal with crap like this all the time.

The only things that saves the evenings is hanging out with friends.

this is why me and my friendz stoped bringing glowsticks, too many ppl trying to imitate

*shrugs* I've never liked the crowd at Necto. That, well, and the fact that it's a half hour drive to get there on a Monday night, is the main thing that's kept me from going there more regularly.

I like the venue, I like the music, and the drinks are decent enough, but the crowd has annoyed me I think every time I've been there but the first time, many years ago. But I guess that shouldn't surprise my since it's an 18+ club in the middle of a college town.

Same reason that I'll never step foot in Luna again. Royal Oak has gone the way of the yuppies, and now Corner Kids have nowhere to go except maybe CC. I doubt most of us are in-state anymore anyhow, many of us moved, died, disappeared, went to jail, or ended up at CC.

But Luna caters to preppy douches now instead of goth/industrial people, so they're never getting another dollar out of me ever again. It's a shame.

...well Luna does not have a goth night...what do you expect to happen? heh.. I havent been to Necto in a long time either, probably at least 7 months. I got sick of the music and more so sick of the people ("goth" or "prep"). Probably the fact that there are alot of tourists there...but then again they are pretty much everywhere now. Necto has a great thing going, but as far as people who are in the scene as apposed to "regular people" who just have one outfit from hot topic...its hard for me to strike a convo with anyone there.

To quote the Cruxshadows: "Take back the dancefloor!" In my experience, one of the best ways to deter undesireables is to make them uncomfortable and unwelcome. They are less apt to keep coming around to oggle & harrass when some big scary guys start flirting & blowing them kisses. Viking Scott & I had great success. You need to point them out to us. It would be my pleasure...

 Yes...this Brother is an excellent example of an OLDSCHOOL GOOD GUY.

I don't know if he likes savin' the Ladies or scarin' the douches more...but they both get done.

Yeah those people are usually frightened away when the comfort level starts to drop...and for them it doesn't take much...

but couldn't you just use a few cans of Raid and get it over with?

I think all these random fetish troops that popped up all over ruined the club scene..

Back when it was mostly Noir doing shows the scene was still mostly underground {the way we liked it}

Within the past 5 or so years all these fetish troops popped up & advertised to the world.. Now all the "normals", who want to get away from their mundane lives, show up all over..

This is how I believe it started... Some "normals" went to a fetish show {to be edgey} & they looooved the debauchery.. So then they took a friend to the next one & then they found out about CC & ventured there & then they took some friends there & it all blew up from there.

I have a feeling I may get attacked over this.. But I watched it happen... I am an old school performer.. So if any of ya kids wanna try to jump down Me throat about Me observations.. Bring it on kidz.

{& Just as a disclaimer.. I am NOT knocking the fetish troops}

It is clear you are not knocking them, but freely stating your observations. Thank you. We have all seen our scene change and grow over time. That's what happens when you are a regular for longer than you'd sometimes like to admit.

However, those changes can be influenced. Fleeing from the problem does not make it go away(recent report from the National Institute of Duh.) Keep coming out. Encourage your friends to do the same. Stand your ground in defiance! Make your night what you want it to be. Carpe Noctem...

If you're still having trouble, and it isn't a security issue, please come and seek me out. I will either cheer you up(in an appropriately dark & gothy way) or start freak dancing, ass-shakin', kiss blowin' or whatever...

It was more then the "glowstickers". There were more then a few assholes of the "normal" looking type. They just stood on the dance floor... wasting space and clearly doing nothing more then looking for women to brush up against and harass.

I cooked up a plan about three months ago, when all of these troubles began. My modus operandi is a bit ugly and crude, and a little bit INSANE, but I stand by it.

I'll say no more on the open forum-- except that I would need about four or five more female accomplices.

Tormenting chavvy college boys is FUN.

i typed up this big thing i was just about to post but i know that no one but sluagh686 will agree with me, so i leave this

there are dumb fucks in EVERY scene. to be perfectly blatantly obvious i feel a lot more welcomed by "normals" and people outside of the supposed "goth/industrial/fetish" scene because *most* of the "normals" have gotten over stupid labels and judgments and still think i'm a cool person just as much if i'm wearing jeans or a corset and fishnets.

looking at someone is not a good judgement of their character. who cares if normal looking people are into fetish and who cares if they happen to enjoy darker music. you don't have to have an arsenal of tripp or latex clothing to be into those things.

and then that being said, i do agree as i said earlier, with msterbeau that necto just plain sucks because of a lot of people there, and that a lot of other clubs lose their appeal because of the patrons they attract.

my two best friends in the entire world are a guy who is the very poster child for the american eagle surfer boy (who also happens to get a hard on for both jazz music and goth rock) and a tree-hugging barefoot hippie who secretly adores emo music and her fiance's rap group.

listen to depeche mode... "people are people" right?

(sorry that got a lot longer than i meant it to... my point is that people we don't enjoy the company of are not necessarily more normal, they just happen to be douchebags)
