Just wanted to know if anyone seen this gem? It was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on March 10th. Its a swedish vampire movie involving a 12 yo boy, a misfit, who meets a 12 yo girl, a vampire, and their relationship. It's quite unique. It's reallly sad that there is already an american remake is in the works. This movie shouldn't be touched.

I am half-way through the book. The DVD came out yesterday. I should be getting it in the mail SOON. I want to finish the book first though.

Mean Salley and I watched it last night, and we both enjoyed it. I actually liked the pacing of the movie. I was curious to see how the movie compared to the book (still have about 70 pages left). Overall, I thought that the relationship between Oskar and Eli was very sweet and liked the fact that the movie wasn't terribly violent or bloody. The suspense was done well, and I thought the "pool scene" was excellent.

I agree, the "pool scene" was great!

Aye I really did like that one. It is a pretty slow moving movie, but it's so well done that it couldn't really be any other way. I would definitely watch it again. Next time Greyhalo needs to figure out how to switch the DVD to Swedish with English subtitles.

I give this movie 4 1/2 of 5 smashes

Perhaps it's because I saw the film before reading the book, but I much preferred the film. The plot felt more cohesive, spent less time with secondary characters, which in this case I found to be a plus; the film focuses in much more on Oskar and Eli, which leaves it feeling like a much leaner and tighter plot.

I've still a few pages left to read, so I could change my mind, but I doubt it.
