Ok so boots, how high is too high?

Recommended Posts

Yeah so I have owned many pairs of boots ranging from 8 eye all the way to 30 eye. My question is, while girls can get away with almost any size boot is there a limit for men? I am not talking about fetish as that is a different arena, this is more along the line of every day wear and some special occasions like concerts and such. Break-in is not really an issue either, I usually buy used boots from germany but if they are new it doesn't take that long.

Opinions are welcome, and so are tips like how YOU blouse your pants or roll them up...tricks with the laces...etc. I already know alot about boot care but after recently losing most of my boots and seeing pictures of myself in 30 eyes I started to wonder and want some feedback on this too...

Nothing over the knee.

What he said. I love my knee-high combat boots.

Anything over the knee is just a bit too feminine for me. Besides us guys need to have full flexibility of our knees in case we need to fight and do guy stuff. Yeah..

Oh yeah and as far as boot blousing, I don't generally do that too often anymore. I did it every day when I was in the Army but now I don't really care. I generally wear those boots above with shorts.

If you know anyone with access to a military post exchange ask them to pick you up a set of boot blousers. They're little green elastic-like cords with hooks on them you put them around your ankles and tuck your pants up under them and they let you decide how high or low you want to blouse your pants. I never used these in the Army but a lot of people do just because it's "faster" and a little more comfortable, I guess..

If you can't find someone to buy them for you, you can order them online here- http://www.brigadeqm.com/cgi-bin/tame.exe/...2Flevel3c%2Etam

They're 4 bucks. And that website is great for any other military gear you might be interested in.

If you need any tips on polishing your boots I'll gladly give you some advice on that. God knows I'll never forget that.

Yeah, I might need some polishing tips soon, but thats only if I get new boots...

I had a pair of blousers before but I wore them out fast. Most of the pants that I blouse are military surplus so they some with blousing straps in them...my flecktarn pants kick ass!

And is anyone else as pissed at Doc M as I am? Seriously, their quality went downhill faster than GM. My very first pair still looks great and they will probably never die...but the pair that I bought a year ago are about a week from death. Horrible fake leather, horrible stitching, horrible treads...it's like they only care about the Airwalk shit that they have now...

Yeah Fuck DM. You know, Demonia boots have gotten better in recent years as far as quality goes. The first couple pairs of Demonia boots I bought about 8 years ago were terrible. They looked nice but, were really cheap. The recent pair I bought shown above are nice quality and built to last. I know this because of my extensive research on combat boots and how they are made. I have so many pairs I have lost count. I only wear like 3 pairs on a regular basis, though, and those knee-highs above are one of them.

If you want a truly comfortable combat boot go spend 300 bucks on a pair of Danner boots.

I usually get ranger style boots...Underground is still awesome and so is Sheffield...I have skinhead contacts all over the place so they find the deals for me...once I start making money I can buy a ton because the price never, ever goes above $150, even for new pairs, tall and short...

They even have NOS DM's, for a very high price, and some used classic DM which, although used, will last longer than you ever will...my kids and their kids will be wearing my classic Docs!
