How to hurt the electric companies

Alright so I don't know what you people all spend on lighting at your homes, but its getting bad everywhere so I assume it is bad here too. First, all the damn bulbs cost quite a bit, burn out like crazy, and shatter at the slightest touch...oh and get really damn hot. Then there is the bill...turn on all the lights at home for a bit, go outside, and watch that meter spin.

Well, at home and at my job we have been updating. LED lights have replaced every single bulb in my house and at work they have only set up a test room, but it is looking very good. No modification have to be made, just screw the bulb in. The bulbs that would replace your typical 60w bulb only use...3w! They also cost $12 - $16 a piece however, with a life span ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 hours they are worth every damn penny. Price and life depend on what color you choose...there are different white color ranges. They never heat up, very hard to break, they can all dim, light can be focused or flooded, and NO MERCURY!

There are some disadvantages...LED differ from regular lights in that their spectra is different, so some colors will look different. Also, if used outdoors the ultra-white LED systems give off more blue pollution which causes more light pollution. However, they do not pose a blue hazard for humans as some people may tell you...there are codes for that stuff.
