If anyone could take old styling, new styling, and new technology into one vehicle...and fuck it all up...it would be Chevy...seriously, I shaved by ass today and it looks better.

There is a chance that I would actually drive a Prius before this thing...

Hey, maybe they could remake the Nova...no, no I was just kidding GM...please please PLEASE do not mess up the Nova too!

Body: Eh, so so. Never did like the body style, but this one tries better.

Gauges: too simplistic. I like to know what is going on with the engine, water temperature, oil pressure, and the like *before* the thing blows up in my face.

They are probably doing it like they are with other new vehicles, its kinds like a HUD somewhere else. Honda just puts it on another tier in front of your face which is great...GM hasn't figured out what a HUD is really.

Either that or the soothing voice of Patric Stewart tells you all relevant information while a replica of his hand strokes your inner thigh to calm you down...umm, that isn't really my fantasy...ok maybe it is but so what?

this is an official 2010 RS production model. There is also going to be an SS version with a small hood scoop like the Bumblebee (Z28)

and this is the Limited Edition BumbleBee model (It's the only way to get the Z28 package)

Ok, well after vomiting a few times...I still don't like it. Maybe they should add a few vents and scoots and stuff...if there is any room left for more that is! That is a phat azz...and not in a good way either. I also do not see the point in adding cost to a vehicle with fake brake vents and a front splitter that about 99% of the people that buy it don't know how to take advantage of.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DANGER! THIS SPACE VEHICLE IS ALL FLUFF AND NO BALLS!

The brake vents and hood scoop are functional.

and, to purchase a car with the same amount of balls or better... you need to get the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 or the Dodge Challanger STR8. Both cost twice as much as the Camero SS.

The had that "beast" up here for the car show...the hood scoop did go into the bay...but the other vents had solid plastic and unless that was a mistake, or the plastic can breathe, those brakes will have to cool the conventional way. One of the guys working on the project was bought out by the company before it was finished...this is not even close to what the engineers put on the paper, the materials are crap and failure tests are already showing problems, and the powertrain contains alot of "old" parts that aren't working well now.

It may look pretty in picture to some, but there are better cars coming from better companies. Honda can actually add horsepower, keep a car clean looking and functional, and all that retains fuel economy. Once an American car company actually get to the level of horsepower per cylinder, BMEP numbers, Mechanical efficiency numbers, and fuel economy numbers...using a conventional internal combustion engine...I might have respect for them. But it seems that once again there is alot of flash with not much to back it up. I also want them to explain how in the hell they had those wheel sizes approved with the extremely tight regulations right now...

Maybe, when this thing gets up to 80mph it takes you back to the glory days...where function was awesome and form was beautiful...then they could buy a real car and bring it back here...

If someone would take the money that they would used to buy this, and would instead buy and old one and restore it, they would get more satisfaction from the looks of the car and would have better horsepower numbers...and would have money left over to spend at the Sharper Image...

See, this is one of those times where research does wonders. Like fuel efficiency, where of all companys... GM leads. I know, thats not the popular perception... I mean, the TV says otherwise, but GM has more vehicles with over 30mpg than any other company.

Current fuel efficiency ratings are a crock. I have researched economy and...the numbers a funny as hell. If I drove my friends Silverado at a steady rate of 60mph, put no load in the vehicle besides my weight, and stayed off of hills then maybe I could get that fuel rating on the sticker.

They need to update their standards for testing...especially with the growing number of variables in the fuel used.

If there is one thing that I learned in my fuels class its that its very easy to write numbers down, its very easy to change how the engine runs with a few adjustments to the fuel...and Toyota is king! I hate Toyota since their cars kick my ass on the track, but I respect their contributions to the field and know that they still have to answere to my friends ROTARY!

Also, GM has been in bed with more alternative fuels that companies than Ron Jeremy. I remember that Honda released the very awesome Civic GX which was a hit where it was supported...and even though it was possible to set up a fueling system with more ease than it was for E85, the government wouldn't buy it so it didn't happen. I just love how people are support a fuel that at best can be called average.

Anyhow, back on topic...

It is still ugly, they could have kept the technology without making it look like , well, that...I would feel more confident driving a minivan...

They are very good at ignoring their critics, I will give them that. They also make a good step in admiting that the Volt has horrible design flaws and may be taken back to the design people. However, I do not know what kind of math they are using, maybe german beer math, but their numbers all still average to nothing but decent and their top rated cars are still beat out by other makers. Factor in the part where any warranty coverage comes into play, cost of regular service looked at, and then you kinda have a problem. Right now GM is making Chrysler look good with their transmissions of death...and even Ford and their fire-breathing diesel is making headway...advancing current systems and using known and proven technology to develop systems that are more efficient and cost effective.

I really liked this comment from a former GM PG employee..."Introducing the Saturn Escape Pod. The highly-isolated interior features BOSE active noise cancellation and a 750-watt stereo system playing 'La La La' to drown out the sounds of your critics"

I do have to day that their 1.4 turbo looks decent...but turbocharging a gasoline powered passenger car, in stock trim, is a waste at best. GM has a good history for diesel engines and if they played that right by making this 1.4 turbo a diesel powerplant...but why would they want to raise efficiency through the roof? Their transmissions a good and so are a few of their engines and even though they have all the pieces of the puzzle there to put together powerful vehicles with good fuel economy, they can't seem to do it. They call this 1.4 turbo innovative...yet they removed the DI and have also downgraded the ignition system...not a good move...unless they are going to do the "savior" move by tossing that stuff back in when the shit hits the fan. That would make them look good to the people that don't pay much attention...
