Pfft, screw it, I'm going to this instead http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?showtopic=27167

do both, they are 2 months apart.

i'll be there. got the presale tix right up front. we were going to just go see fischerspooner at the majestic that night but i've never seen JA before so it should be fun although i'm not big on nins last few releases.

I felt that way too when I went to go see them a few years ago. I went to see Bauhaus mainly, but stuck around to see NIN. The newer stuff sounded better live and they did play plenty of old favorites. They really had the place pumped! Hopefully, this will be the case again.

i think i've seen them 5x now and that tour was my least favorite. i saw them at lollapalooza last summer and while the lighting and interactive video was great, i thought the show relied too much on that. the band just didn't have the same energy as the other times i had seen them. so i am actually looking forward to this more "stripped down" show.

This thread is sooo buried! I figured I'd resurrect it since it's coming up now!

I'm thinking about going - not a HUGE HUGE fan of either band but I like both enough and $22 is pretty cheap for such big bands. I feel like I should go to a really huge show once before Mode too so I know what to expect and prepare accordingly so I have the most fun possible at Mode (it tends to really bug me when I have no idea what to expect from things and I don't want that coloring my Gahan!).

Sooo anyone know if you can get tickets day-of at the door at DTE? I REALLY don't want to pay as much in fees as the ticket itself for Ticketmaster.

Not too sure on that. I bought mine when they came on sale. I hate paying the fees too, but it seems if you don't, it can sell out on you before long.

True. But then again, I'm only tempted to go cuz it's only $22. By the time I was done paying Ticketbastard's fees and everything, my total would be $40 (no exaggeration - $10 TM, $3 something else, $3 something else, $2 printing charge). That's a little ridiculous.

$22 tickets are lawn, btw.

pm on the way.

I usually always prefer the lawn at the DTE because you always chance getting pummeled by sod. Then again, if it rains, you are screwed and become a member of the mud men.

Janes Addiction and NIN playing the same bill again, is kinda giving me a flashback. I saw them when they toured together back in ....probably about 1991. F**k, I feel old :cry

U are old Kim. JK Shit I'm older than u. LOL. Anyways I wanna go see the show.

I have lawn for Depeche Mode as well (theirs are more expensive so that's all I could afford!)

where are you going to see DM? They aren't playing around here on this tour are they?

for those thinking about the nin show you may want to go if you like the older stuff. he has been playing a lot of rarer tracks off of TDS (i do not want this, becoming, TDS, heresy), the piggy and closer remixes from that era, and even songs like "Last" and "i'm afraid of americans". he's doing different setlists every night but has said this is not a greatest hits tour, it's for the die hard fans which is a nice change. But with my luck i'll just see all songs i've already seen him do live before.

Not at all close to here. Road trip!!! I wish they were playing here. The closest is Lollapalooza but that's not where I'm seeing them.

Anyway the show should be fun! I won't know a lot of the songs if that's the case, because I am far from a die-hard fan, but hell, NIN for $22? I think so! It should be an experience.

The deck at the top of the hill has become my fave spot to watch a show there. :jamin

reminder: NIN goes on before Jane's Addiction, so plan arrival time accordingly.

Really? That seems strange! But okay cool. Thanks! :):)

Have no idea what deck or hill, obviously, as I've never been there but looking forward to going!
