Troy Spiral (13)
Remind me to not assume everyone thinks the same way I do. 35 years on the planet and you'd think I'd be able to remember this. Specifically, I can pretty much be trusted to take most things to the grave with me, if necessary, that are told to me in confidence. That doesn't mean I've NEVER EVER let something out, but I try damn hard to be worth trusting with such info. If we don't have anything, at least we can be trustworthy. I know occasionally certain conversations might not seem like they are meat to be uber-private, but there are obvious pieces of information that are intended to be private. Not that its the end of the world if someone "betrays" my confidence, hell we all make mistakes, but when it seems to be intentional, not accidental, really bums me out. torn asunder
i find it best that anytime discretion is in question, it's best to be uber-specific with the person to whom you're talking. any time i ever assume something, it's usually the opposite that happens. hope everything's cool, troy... Guest Megalicious
I know exactly what you mean Troy. Though I am NEVER forgiving if someone has "betrayed" my trust- ever. I takes a lot for me to open up to people, to trust them. When they betray what was said to them in good faith that trust is broken and can never be repaired. I hope everything is ok with you. If you need to rant/vent shoot me a PM. *gives Troy a BIG bear hug*
jadnifer
The thing about trust is: It takes a second to earn it, I lifetime to get it back if you betray it.
asphyxian_doll
That sucks. Discretion is important. And if the person doesn't want to be discreet or even hear the "secret" they need to set boundaries.
the eternal
Troy, I'm sorry someone betrayed your confidence. Know that we care about you. Sometimes people can just be insensitive, but don't let it lose your faith in people. We're all we've got

DarkVampire
In the famous slogans on TV, Trust no one. I trust very few and I know who I can relay information that is very private to. Once someone betrays that trust, there's no going back with me.
FarrIL
I had to learn really quick whom I could tell personal stuff to. I realized that the person was two-faced and also stretched the truth exceedingly. So, I bite my tongue around that person.
