Is there any topic that I write in that doesn't end up getting deleted or closed? I'm just curious. This is the second thread that got prematurely cut. Don't know exactly how I feel about that. I think I've been following the rules pretty close. Obviously this thing is still slightly an issue. Just slightly.

I've been a moderator here for a while now. Until this past week threads were rarely closed and there was very rarely anything deleted.

The majority of deleted posts in the past were drive-by posters who just came in to spam us with either porn sites with endless popups or someone posting personal information about someone else (like a home address or something truly malicious).

I missed out on most of the influx of new members this weekend, but I didn't see a problem with your posts. Unfortunately when a post is moved or deleted it takes the whole thread with it.

i can't say for certain but it seems to me any posts getting moved or deleted or closed are not due to any *one* poster but rather the back and forth between several posters instead. it could be that your new posts have been sort of taken over by rude, abrassiveness and therefore closed or moved for the time being.

i think it is safe to say that it is not you so much as what is going on in the posts after they are started. but as always, contact troy or a sr mod if you feel this is an issue.

It has nothing to do with you, I assure you. We DO take it seriously when deleting or closing a topic - sometimes a bit too seriously as we may take too long mulling over what to do with a particular thread while it is continuing to progress into ugliness.

The "out of hand" topic was closed but may be reopened sometime today. This topic itself started out as a good topic but had started to escalate into the same "out of hand" tone that the others have. There have been some (DGN regulars) posts deleted which were inappropriate and against our policies.

I specify the "DGN Regular" part because I want you to know that the policies are enforced for everyone, there is no bias based on post count.

Deleting and editing of post(s) is taken pretty seriously around here. Rarely is any post or thread deleted with out a ton of deliberation beforehand.

If you think you might have a problem with a specific moderator deleting your posts(?) using PMs probably would be a better option. Most all the moderator staff (and the vast majority of the posters) are pretty understanding if you have a specific problem that you might want addressed, but its usually better done privately to limit the unnecessary problems it might unintentionally cause.

There was recently a very large thread with a lot of posts that was deleted due to every 5th post in it being a DGN rules problem , mostly caused by a few specific posters, and after hours of trying to sort out what was what, it was decided that it was better just to remove the thread. (took a long time and a lot of thought before coming to that conclusion)

I personally, don't ever remember deleting any posts with your name on them specifically. I do know of 1-2 posts that were accidentally deleted a few days ago and then later restored, but they were from other posters. If you've actually read the DGN rules , and are trying to follow them (many posters havnt) i'd be suprized if many of your posts ever get deleted. Many posts that are "borderline" dont even get delted. I've never had any specific complaints about any of your posts as far as i know. PM me directly with a link to the thread if its something i can help with, or the title of the post and ill hunt it down in the deleted posts archives.

If any posts are edited / deleted its usually only after a lot of thought.

I don't currently have any info about posts/threads being deleted unfairly.
