Questions to Mods about Media

Recommended Posts

As you know, I'm regularly creating comics, designing games, silk-screening shirts, and creating other objects d'art. Is it okay for me to talk about the items here, particularly as they come out? I know that there's a line between discussing the products and hucksterism, and I have to be careful when walking that line. Still, at the same time, there are stories in some of the books that also really fit with this community, whether it's "Garbage Trouble," Dan Rafter's zombie love story or Sam Johnson's stories with his "Mr. Mashup" character. Heck, I also want to share my creations with this group because some of you are my friends, and this is the easiest way I can get in touch with you.

I promise that I'll try not to spam all over everyone.

Good question, can we consult and get back to you?

Please do.

On a related note (but safe, since I'm not promoting myself), SPACE, the Small Press And Comics Expo, is coming up on April 18th and 19th in Columbus. Bob Corby of Back Porch Comics is running the event, and there are frequently a *lot* of up and coming goth artists and writers there. Of particular interest is "Am I Immortal?" by Shawnti Therrien. I guarandamtee if you can find that one, you'll like it. It's about an amnesiac who may or may not be Cain.

SPACE is at

http://backporchcomics.com/space.htm

"Am I Immortal" is supposed to be selling through Free Lunch Comics, but their link to her stuff isn't working. Her blog (and samples) are up at

http://www.immortalgothicangel.com/

Her art on the comic book is about ten times better than what you see on the website--there's a luminescent quality to her work that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Well that's an event and should definitely go in the nightlife/events section.

As far as your stuff goes, it should go in the your creations section. Or if it's relevant to a conversation I say post about it but don't hock it as something being sold.

But that's just the way I see it.

I think this is the perfect forum for you and your creativity. You are a very talented person..

Your Creations - for some of your artwork, and general stuff on your games.

Promotions - for some of the stuff that you want to get out there that you're selling, or making aware of some of your friends work. Sometimes it would also fit in the books area.

Events - for the events you're promoting.

Any other questions, please feel free to PM any of the moderators.

:)
