candyman
Maybe if PETA spent more of their money on donations to these shelters instead of paying for stupid crap...
pleasurekatzen
I mean, I understand that a lot of pet shops create totally deplorable conditions for animals, and that's not even getting into the "puppy mills" issue. Hence why all of my pets have been rescues I just think this is going a bit too far...

I agree, I've always gotten my animals (save my lizard who I got from a friend who bread it with his own two lizards) from the humane society. I think my response would have been the same as "The Pet Shop Boys". Edited April 15, 2009 by hunhee

n0Mad
I would've asked them to discuss it with me over dinner, then proceed to order veal and lobster with ice cream for dessert. After they picked up the bill I'd laugh in their faces and leave.

anametamystik
Does PETA have any concept of trademark rights, publicity rights, etc. or are animal rights all they care about? The band has been performing under that name for two decades. Sure, bands like Frontline Assembly have varied their name slightly, but they're still Frontline Assembly. At least these animal rights people are too scared for the moment to go after tarantulas.

Troy Spiral (13)
"People in hell want ice water, it doesn't mean they are going to get it. " Interesting way to raise awareness though. Throw a pop culture name into something and the next thing you know people are actually talking about it. Sort of a sad commentary on what people pay attention to. Onyx
We need to take care of our planet and the animals who share it with us. PETA does not. They've done more to hurt animals overall than to help. PETA are a bunch of lying, hypocritical idiots. I'm not sure what their actual motivation is, however I suspect someone at the top is skimming funds. They certainly aren't using the money to help animals that I can see. =========== PETA Killed 95 Percent of Adoptable Pets in its Care During 2008 Hypocritical Animal Rights Group’s 2008 Disclosures Bring Pet Death Toll To 21,339 WASHINGTON DC – Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2008. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the animal rights group kills an average of 5.8 pets every day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters. According to public records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 2,124 pets last year and placed only seven in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 21,339 dogs and cats have died at the hands of PETA workers. more here: http://www.consumerfreedom.com/pressReleas...cfm/release/

anametamystik
Morons they are, just wait till they go and protest "bug collectors" at science labs The moment the Detroit chapter pulls that is the moment I hop on a bus headed for the Science Center with Rosemary, my chilean rose tarantula. Eighty percent of all women and half of all men have arachnophobia. Edit: found their tarantula thread: http://www.peta.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5757 and noted the 19m 56s lag between the first post and the first post of total kneejerk idiocy. One does not simply release tarantulas into Michigan. Edited April 15, 2009 by anametamystik

Scary Guy
PETA=the activist version of fundamentalist christians Actually I think they're more on the left than the right, goddamn hippies. Look at the stereotypical fundie/red neck dinner. red meat, a beer, and nascar. No PETA members might just possibly be even more retarded than fundie Christians. At least they understand how the food pyramid works. But then again there is that imaginary friend thing so I don't know.....

It is easier to adopt a child than to adopt a pet from PETA. There is one chapter in Wisconsin that is pretty militant and one member got arrested for beating the crap out of an owner that adopted a dog...she saw the guy hit the dog with a newspaper after it went after someone on the sidewalk. They should try the euthanasia program themselves to see if it is humane...we are really animals too right?
DJ Nocker
*Ponders how long it will take before this post gets deleted and I get a "Warning"* F!ck PETA along with all you other animal rights activists! im so sick of hearing it, go live in the woods and eat pine cones if you love animale so much, I swear to god its sickening how stupid these people are. People who care more about the lives of animals over humans should be executed. *goes and cooks a pound of bacon*
